2.Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm F1.8 Lens, for Micro Four Thirds Cameras (Black)

Lens TypeWide Angle
Compatible MountingsMicro Four Thirds
Camera Lens Description17 millimetres
Maximum Focal Length17 Millimeters

The lens is a great performer in all areas, it is sharp when stopped down but perfectly usable wide open. The contrast is great and the colors are good enough for me. Focusing is fast and accurate, I can’t really say anything bad about it.

The build quality of this lens is impressive, it has a metal mount and a solid feel to it that gives you a confidence that this lens will last. The focusing ring feels nice and smooth, the aperture ring is a bit stiffer than I’d like but its doable.

The only negative thing I can think of is the size, which is not bad but the lens feels very long compared to most of the other m4/3 primes. This does not bother me too much though as I’m coming from Canon DSLRs so everything feels small to me πŸ™‚

Overall this lens offers excellent image quality in a very compact package and at the same time has a very attractive price point compared to similar lenses from other brands like Leica or Zeiss (Loxia).
