The keyboard is backlit and you can turn off the lights when not needed. The keys are well spaced and provide ample key travel for comfortable typing.

One of the most important things about a laptop is its keyboard. The Nitro 5’s keyboard has backlit keys, which are a plus because they’re easier to see in the dark. The keys themselves have good spacing, making them easy to hit and comfortable to use for long periods of time. You can also turn off the lights when you don’t need them—like when you’re typing or playing in a well-lit room.

The touchpad is responsive and easy to use, with two physical buttons that provide a satisfying click when pressed—a nice alternative for gamers who prefer using physical mouse buttons over tapping on the touchpad.

Drawbacks of Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop

While the Acer Nitro 5 does not have too many drawbacks, it does lack in a few areas. The laptop is not suitable for people who travel light, as it is a little on the bulkier side. The acerbic webcam placement makes video calls a bit awkward and the display could have been brighter for our reading pleasure.

The Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45-R83Z) is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a mid-range price tag, a range of discrete graphics options, and an inky black paint job accented in red. This entry-level gaming laptop packs an Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD into its durable frame for smooth performance with everyday productivity tasks and some light gaming on the side. The Nitro 5’s affordable price makes it one of the best budget laptops you can buy overall, but it also gets outgunned by some of its competitors — especially when playing demanding AAA games at high settings.

Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45) Review — The $700 Gaming Laptop of Your Dreams.

The Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45) is a great choice for gamers looking for a budget laptop that doesn’t sacrifice performance. It’s not perfect, but if you can live with its few shortcomings, the AN515-45 is one of the best entry-level gaming laptops we’ve tested.

The Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45) is one of the more attractive budget gaming laptops out there. Its gunmetal gray chassis has an understated design and a sturdy feel. The hood sports a subtle anodized aluminum finish, which is accented by a glossy black plastic strip running along its center and by two red hinges on either side, forming an “X.” In addition to looking cool, this X also houses two vents to help keep your rig from overheating during intense firefights or 13-hour Skyrim binges (more on that later).

Should You Buy the Acer Nitro 5.

If you’re looking for a budget gaming laptop, the Acer Nitro 5 is one of your best bets. Its AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics chip provide smooth frame rates for 1080p gaming, along with solid multitasking performance. The 15.6-inch screen has narrow bezels for a more immersive experience, and it bright enough to let you see the action in sunny conditions.

For $800 or less you’ll have to compromise on some features. It doesn’t have an OLED display like pricier laptops do, and its battery life is below average. But considering that options like the Asus TUF Gaming A15 currently cost more than $1,000 while offering similar performance, the Acer Nitro 5’s combination of price and performance makes it our top budget gaming pick right now.

Backing up the internals is a 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 IPS display with minimal bezel, which is fine for gaming but doesn’t match the trend toward higher resolutions in this price range.

Backing up the internals is a 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 IPS display with minimal bezel, which is fine for gaming but doesn’t match the trend toward higher resolutions in this price range. While it’s a good panel, it could be better and at this price our expectations are fairly high.

Most of the port selection is geared toward gamers who might want to use an external monitor or upgrade their peripherals (we’ll get into that later). You’ll find an HDMI 2.0 port and three USB 3.2 Type-A ports on the sides, along with Kensington lock and barrel jack power ports on the left side of the machine, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port on the right side. Headphone/microphone jacks are also available to complete your audio set up.

Nitro 5 offers a great combination of price and performance in an attractive package. I wish it had a bit more storage and RAM, but that’s an easy upgrade.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a great all-around budget gaming laptop. While it doesn’t have the highest end specs, the price reflects that. However, it has everything you need to play games at medium settings and even has a decent amount of storage space, given its size and price point. This machine is an excellent choice for gamers on a budget who want to get in on the PC gaming scene without breaking their bank accounts.

If I were to find fault with this laptop, I would criticize the 8GB RAM limit which makes it hard to run programs in addition to playing games. It also comes with only 256GB of storage space, which is fairly low considering how much games can take up these days. Luckily, both of these things can be upgraded fairly cheaply: RAM sticks are often on sale for as little as $20 each and external storage solutions (such as SSDs) are not prohibitively expensive either.

Ultimately, if you’re willing to upgrade your memory and storage capabilities as necessary (which will cost around $100), then this laptop will serve you very well for years before needing any other upgrades.

Among mainstream gaming laptops, the Acer Nitro 5 stands out from the crowd. It’s relatively affordable, it’s well designed and has powerful enough components to play most AAA games at low or medium settings.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a great choice for those looking for good performance at a reasonable price. It has the components and performance you’d expect from a gaming laptop, but its design sets it apart from many of its competitors. You can use the Nitro 5 to play most AAA games on low or medium settings, and it’s easy to upgrade if you want to swap out parts in the future.

The nitro 5 is a good laptop for gamers on a budget

  • If you are looking to buy a laptop that can play most games, the Acer Nitro 5 is a good choice at an accessible price.
  • Internally, the laptop is powered by Intel’s sixth-generation Core i5 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. While these specs are nothing special, they’re more than sufficient for playing non-AAA titles at high detail levels.
  • The laptop’s design is solidly built and will easily withstand the daily rigors of gaming; its dark red accents give it a sleek look. Additionally, the display panel offers a good-sized screen and has anti-glare coating to minimize reflections under bright lights.

Pros and Cons of Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45-R83Z Gaming Laptop

Pros:

  • It’s affordable. The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45-R83Z Gaming Laptop is reasonably priced when compared to other gaming laptops. However, for the same price, you can find a better performing laptop with superior features.
  • Fast processing power. This laptop features an Intel Core i7-10750H processor and 16GB of RAM that lets you run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down performance.

Cons:

  • Poor display. The 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare display offers decent visuals when playing games or watching movies but on its own, the display isn’t that great since it has a refresh rate of 60Hz and doesn’t offer good color reproduction. You may also notice some lag in using the touchpad because it lacks palm rejection technology that prevents registering undesired touches on your screen while gaming or typing documents on your laptop.

Drawbacks of Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45-R83Z Gaming Laptop

This laptop is not without its drawbacks. For starters, you won’t be pleased with the display’s color accuracy and low resolution. The screen isn’t very bright, either. If you turn up the brightness to compensate, the battery life will take a hit; don’t expect it to last more than three hours on a charge if you’re playing games or taxing resource-intensive apps such as Photoshop or Premiere Pro.

The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45-R83Z Gaming Laptop lacks an SD card reader, which may make transferring photos from your camera slightly less convenient; but access to USB ports and a DVD drive should help offset this inconvenience somewhat.

You’ll also want to keep in mind that this laptop can become noisy under load due to its two cooling fans (a typical tradeoff for slim gaming laptops).

The HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop is the perfect laptop for students, gamers, and those who work from home. With its powerful processor and large hard drive, it can handle multitasking with ease. It also has a beautiful display and is lightweight so you can take it with you wherever you go!

Processor

The Intel Core i5-10300H is a mid-range processor designed for multimedia laptops. The Core i5-10300H is one of eight different options from Intel’s 10th generation Comet Lake H family of processors that are based on the 14nm++ process and range from two to six cores.

Compared to other mid-range options, the i5-10300H has four cores, eight threads and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.50 GHz. In terms of hyperthreading, this means that four processing threads can be handled at one time by each core in the processor. This makes it ideal for gaming laptops because it can handle intense graphics and gameplay while still allowing you to multitask.

Graphics

If you’re a gamer or are planning to use your laptop for graphic-intensive activities, this laptop has you covered. Its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card has 4 GB of dedicated video memory and is based on the newer Pascal architecture. It gives you smooth visuals in everything from eSports to AAA titles, and it can even be used for casual gaming if that’s your thing. Although it isn’t upgradable, its modern design means it should be able to handle most games without issue.

Memory, Storage, and Operating System

The 2021 New HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop comes equipped with 8GB DDR4 RAM, which allows you to have seamless multitasking between applications. The 512GB SSD storage is enough to store all of your games and applications so that they’re easily accessible when and where you need them. The laptop runs on Windows 10 Home, the most up-to-date operating system available.

Screen and Speakers

When you’re playing games and watching videos, the 15.6-inch, 1080p display will have you staring at it for hours. The 1080p display is bright, vivid, and sharp. The speakers are loud and clear. It’s a great screen for watching movies and playing games. The RGB keyboard is also a nice touch that you can use to set up different colors for different games or different systems on your computer.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is comfortable to type on, although the keys are a bit stiff. The touchpad is responsive, and it doesn’t require too much force when clicking. It also supports Windows’ Precision Touchpad protocol for multi-touch gestures like two-finger scrolling and pinch-to-zoom. The keyboard has a single-zone RGB backlight, which is customizable via HP’s Omen Command Center software.

Ports and Webcam

  • Ports and Webcam

Ports are definitely an important feature to pay attention to, so let’s get right into it. There are a few different types of ports that you should be interested in: USB-C and USB 3.0. (You can think of USB-C as the new port type that is set to replace the older standard, which is still widely found on many laptops.) The first is a Thunderbolt port, which is a high-speed port that you will mostly see with Macbooks and other Apple products. This will be our primary connection for external displays or other peripheral devices like storage drives. Next, we have the HDMI port for video output to an HDTV or monitor if you want to do some gaming at home on your big screen TV!

The last thing worth mentioning about ports here are SD card slots – these provide quick access when transferring photos from cameras onto your computer without having to plug them in through another cable! If this sounds like something useful then make sure there’s one available on whatever HP Pavilion laptop model interests you most because some do not come equipped with them (including this 15″ FHD Gaming Laptop).

Battery Life and Heat Management

The HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop has a battery life of up to 5 hours with mixed usage, and stays cool even when you are playing video games or

watching videos. The laptop’s heat management safeguards the components and prevents overheating, even when you are working with many programs and browser tabs open at once. Keep using your laptop for hours without it getting hot on your lap.

Value for the Dollars Spent (You get what you pay for)

If you’re looking for a laptop that delivers more than what you pay for, the 2021 New HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop will not disappoint.

This laptop is comparable in price to other laptops that offer similar performance and features. However, this laptop is much less expensive than laptops with similar specifications from other brands like ASUS, Dell or Apple.

The sleek design and high-quality parts justify the price of this laptop, but it is still cheaper than competitors’ products with similar specs.

Overall, this laptop has a great value for money ratio.

This laptop is a good choice for students, gamers, or those who work from home.

The HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 2021 is a good choice for students, gamers, or those who work from home. It is one of the best laptops you can buy in 2021. If speed, versatility and portability are important to you as a student, gamer or telecommuter, then this laptop should be your first choice.

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop but don’t want to spend a lot of money on it, then this could be the perfect option for you. The 2021 New HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop has all the features you need to play games and watch movies at home with your friends. The laptop gives users access to thousands of free games through Steam (an online game distribution platform). There are also hundreds of paid games available through Steam (and other platforms) that can be purchased easily using either credit card or PayPal account information stored on file with Steam.

With its powerful processor and graphics card, the new HP Pavilion 15 allows users to run their favorite PC games at high settings without any issues whatsoever while also being able to multitask between work projects without slowing down performance too much due to all those open windows clogging up memory space! This makes it an excellent choice if you’re looking for something portable enough so that when traveling around town getting things done during busy days out there but still need some computer time back at home base before bedtime hits.”

Pros and Cons of HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop

As the title says, HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop is a good option if you have a budget under $600. As a laptop at this price range, it is not fantastic but still meets all your basic needs:

  • Good price
  • Good performance—the 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H processor and 8GB of RAM make it fast for both multitasking and high-end gaming; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card with 4GB dedicated memory enables smooth gameplay
  • Good screen—15.6” diagonal Full HD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit display (1920×1080) includes a wide viewing angle for comfortable viewing
  • Good keyboard—full size island style backlit keyboard with numeric keypad offers 1.5mm keystroke travel for comfortable typing
  • Good design—micro edge bezel design; precision touchpad enhances accuracy of mouse movements on the screen; two built-in speakers offer quality audio output

Although, it also has some cons:

  • Poor battery life—you need to charge it frequently if you use the laptop all day long and play games in your free time, which can be annoying sometimes; estimated battery life is around 5 hours 48 minutes which means that you will have to bring the charger with you every time when you go out during the day and don’t have access to an outlet because its battery dies fast in daily usage. If you only use this laptop for casual browsing, video streaming and Netflix binging without playing any game, you can expect that its battery can last more than 6 hours though.
  • Poor webcam resolution—720p camera offers decent quality video chat but could be better
  • Poor storage capacity (and options)—it only has 256GB hard drive storage which is not enough for modern users who store tons of files on their laptops or download large games from Steam/Epic Games Store/Origin/etc. You

Drawbacks of HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop

HP Pavilion 15.6″ FHD Gaming Laptop is not great for gaming. It has a short battery life and it tends to overheat. There are some issues with the keyboard as well, and its screen is not great.

The battery only lasts about two hours if you game on it, which isn’t enough for most gamers to have a good experience. The laptop also overheats easily when under heavy use, and when this happens the machine will begin to slow down or even shut off until it cools off.

The keyboard also has some problems, notably that it isn’t backlit which means that you can’t see what keys you are pressing in dark conditions. Additionally, there have been reports that the keyboard can stop working after a few months of use.

Finally, the screen is not full HD, so any games that you play on this laptop will be lower quality than they would be on other laptops with better screens.

We’re excited to introduce Asus TUF 15.6″ FHD Premium Gaming Laptop. It has a graphics card of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 VRAM and an operating system Windows 10 Home in S mode.

Screen: 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-level panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 300 nits brightness

Expect blazing-fast gameplay and crisp graphics with a true 120Hz 15.6” Full HD (1920×1080) IPS-level display. The 120Hz refresh rate makes the display super responsive, allowing you to react instantly to what’s happening onscreen so that you get that first strike in.

And with a 100% sRGB color gamut plus wide 178° viewing angles, everything always looks amazing no matter where you sit or stand, which is great for sharing your screen.

  • Cores/Threads: 8C/16T
  • Base Clock/Boost Clock: 2.9/4.2GHz
  • Cache: 6MB L3
  • TDP: 45W

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 VRAM

The graphics card is one of the most important parts of a gaming laptop. Whether you’re looking to play a game on high or ultra settings, or just want to play casually, the graphics card is going to be key. The GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6 VRAM graphics card in this Asus laptop is good for some games, but not for others. While this card is good enough for less graphic-intensive games like League of Legends and Rainbow Six: Siege, it isn’t powerful enough for the more graphically-demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Battlefield V. In these heavier games, you’ll likely have to turn down your settings or risk experiencing frame drops while playing.

Storage/memory: 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD/ 16GB DDR4 RAM

Storage/memory: 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD/ 16GB DDR4 RAM

With the laptop’s big storage capacity and enough RAM for your everyday needs, you have the room to store all your files with confidence as well as run multiple applications without lag or slowdown.

Battery life: Up to 8 hours

The battery life is up to eight hours. It all depends on how you use your laptop. The more you use it, the less battery time it will have. But, if you use it for tasks that don’t require a lot of processing power, then your battery life will be closer to 8 hours. You can check your estimates through the Windows power slider in the Windows 10 system tray. We’ve seen numbers as high as 12 hours when just running Microsoft Word and surfing the web. We always recommend keeping your computer plugged in whenever possible but sometimes you’ll need to take this laptop on trips and that’s where good battery life really counts!

Weight 5.07 pounds

Weighing in at 5.07 pounds, the Asus is a little heavier than other gaming laptops, but nonetheless still light enough to carry around daily without a problem.

Operating system Windows 10 Home in S mode

  • Enjoy the Windows you know, Microsoft-verified apps delivered via the Windows Store, and the convenience of the cloud.
  • With Windows 10 Home in S mode, you can search the web or stream movies with Microsoft Edge, choose your own cloud storage, and download your favorite apps, with the most secure Windows experience ever. Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won’t be able to go back to Windows 10 in S mode. There’s no charge to switch out of S mode.

Whether you’re looking for a gaming laptop for work or school, the Asu TUF is worth the purchase.

  • What I like about this laptop:

Asus TUF is easy to transport between your home and work space, with a lightweight and durable build. Its AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD storage and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card deliver high performance for photo editing, video production or other demanding tasks. This Asus TUF gaming laptop has an RGB keyboard with a single-zone backlight that lets you customize colors to match your style.

  • What I dislike about this laptop:

This laptop doesn’t have an SD card slot.

  • Who should get this laptop:

You should get the Asus TUF if you want to take deep dives into games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare or The Witcher 3 (I’m playing on a PC for the first time ever!). It also boasts quality specs for anyone who needs to perform CPU-intensive tasks like graphic design or music production.

Pros and Cons of Asus TUF 15.6″ FHD Premium Gaming Laptop

  • Pros:

The processor, RAM and storage work together to offer decent performance for all kinds of computing.

Its battery life is better than what’s expected from a gaming laptop.

The display is bright and vivid, though not high-resolution.

You get a good selection of ports, including USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 3 support.

  • Cons:

It’s heavy and bulky, so you’ll want to leave it at home on most days.

There’s no webcam built into the laptop for video calls or streaming.

The 1080p display has a lower resolution than other 15-inch competitors in similar price ranges that do offer 4K displays (you would think they’d have some better specs if they’re trying to compete with pricier laptops).

Buyers got fewer hours of battery life than predicted by Asus (it might have been the overstated expectations that made this seem like such a big deal).

Drawbacks of Asus TUF 15.6″ FHD Premium Gaming Laptop

Overall, there are few downsides to the TUF Gaming Laptop; it’s a great gaming laptop for its price. The RGB lighting is pretty basic, so don’t expect anything crazy, but it’s still a nice feature to have.

The touchpad is kind of small and I would’ve liked to see something slightly larger, though it still works fine.

It also gets a bit loud when under load, but that’s the case with most gaming laptops.

Finally the laptop doesn’t come with a webcam which I can understand because not everyone wants to stream or use video chat on their device, but that’s something you need to keep in mind if you think you might want one on your device in the future.

The 15.6 inch screen has a full HD, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and is IPS (In-Plane Switching) and LED backlit. The display makes colors appear vivid and sharp with a high level of detail visible at all times. Up to 6 hours battery life, Windows 10 Home 64 Bit

If you’re planning on using your laptop for a lot of gaming, the 6 hours battery life won’t be enough to last through an intense gaming session. It will, however, do well with less intensive tasks like web browsing, presentations or multimedia playback. The Windows 10 Home 64 Bit operating system is a good choice and it comes pre-installed on the Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop.

This gaming laptop is powerful and portable

As a gaming laptop, the Predator Helios 300 by Acer is both powerful and portable. It packs in a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU as well as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU that delivers 1080p gaming at consistent framerates. The 15.6″ Full HD Widescreen IPS LED-backlit Display with 1920 x 1080 resolution provides sharp visuals while playing your favorite games, while a 4 zone RGB keyboard lights up the way you play with per-key customization. There’s even Killer Double Shot Pro Wireless AC 1550 so you can connect to online games quickly and securely. And finally, the 6 hour battery life ensures that you can keep playing throughout the day without having to worry about finding an outlet.

Pros and Cons of Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is a gaming laptop with a fast processor, an impressive display and an excellent keyboard. In terms of specs and performance, this laptop really hits the mark—it’s got a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 6 cores, 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. That makes it powerful enough to play most games smoothly at 1080p resolution on high settings. This thing also has a 15-inch 1080p full HD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate that won’t drop any frames. And if you’re looking for storage space or RAM upgradeability, it delivers there too. The keyboard is spacious and comfortable to use; the touchpad feels good to the touch; the battery life is decent (around 5 hours); and the cooling doesn’t get overly loud when you’re playing intensive games like Doom or Apex Legends. While we do wish it were lighter and thinner—and as always, cheaper—this laptop checks off most boxes for people who want a fast machine for work or gaming on-the-go.

Drawbacks ofAcer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop

In a nutshell, the Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop is a stellar laptop that has it all: from its powerful processor, premium built quality and display to its top-notch gaming performance and battery life. however, in some cases it can make some compromises that we believe might not be suitable for everyone.

For example, despite the fact that the keyboard of this laptop is comfortable to use and comes with RGB lighting, some people may find it to be too noisy because of the crisp feedback each key makes when pressed down. on top of that, although this laptop comes with an excellent 144Hz refresh rate capable display with G-Sync support, there are several disadvantages to it as well. For example, due to its small 15.6-inch size (there’s no 17″ option), 1080p resolution and matte finish coating you won’t be able to enjoy as brilliant colors as you would expect from a high refresh rate display like this one. additionally, if you’re looking for better color accuracy this screen will not deliver either as it has poor color coverage which many gamers find hard when trying to capture the right colors while editing their work on Adobe Photoshop or any other similar app.

Pros and Cons of Sager NP7879JQ 17.3-Inch Thin Bezel FHD 144Hz

Pros

In terms of design and performance the Sager NP7879JQ is an excellent choice for gaming. The price tag may be a little steep but you get a well rounded device with good hardware at a great price point in comparison to competitors.

Cons

The biggest problem with this laptop is that it doesn’t really work as well as a workstation. This computer is more than powerful enough to handle pretty much anything you throw at it, but it doesn’t have the portability or versatility of many other laptops on the market.

Drawbacks of Sager NP7879JQ 17.3-Inch Thin Bezel FHD 144Hz

The Sager NP7879JQ is not without its drawbacks:

  • The laptop is on the heavy side. At 5.5 pounds, it’s significantly heavier than its competitors in the gaming laptop realm such as Alienware m15 (4.8 pounds) and MSI GS65 Stealth THIN-051 (4.1 pounds). If you plan to carry this laptop around with you a lot, be prepared for some arm fatigue.
  • The fans can get loud when the graphics card is working hard at running demanding games or other processes that require a lot of computing power from the GPU and CPU simultaneously. If you value quiet above all else when choosing a gaming laptop, you may want to look elsewhere for something that doesn’t make as much noise under pressure.

However, these drawbacks should not detract from what an all-around solid performer this model truly is:

Pros and Cons of 2022 Sager NP7880P Gaming Laptop

  • Drawbacks of 2022 Sager NP7880P Gaming Laptop
  • The Sager NP7880P Gaming Laptop is a new model for the NP78 series. It features an Intel i7 9700K CPU, RTX 3070 graphics card, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of NVMe storage. It is a very powerful laptop and one that can play games at high frame rates with no problems. It has a 17 inch full HD display that you can use as your main monitor while playing games.
  • This laptop also has a webcam so you can video chat with people online or record yourself playing games on YouTube. The problem with this laptop is its weight and size; it weighs in at 4 pounds which makes it too heavy to carry around all day but not enough to make it uncomfortable when you’re sitting in front of your desk playing video games or watching movies. You’ll feel like there’s something missing if this were any lighter than what I’m describing here because I’ve used laptops before that were lighter than this one but felt empty inside because they didn’t have enough power under their hoods (or maybe even just not enough air coming through its vents).

Drawbacks of 2022 Sager NP7880P Gaming Laptop

The Sager NP7880P is a beast of a gaming laptop with the power and performance to back it up. It has an excellent display, great battery life, and solid graphics performance. However, it’s also one of the most expensive gaming laptops we’ve tested this year and its keyboard is shallow. If you’re looking for something more portable, take a look at our picks for the best gaming laptops and best laptops overall.

Design

Despite the “thin” in its name, the Sager NP7880P isn’t all that thin or light: It weighs 7 pounds and measures 0.8 inches thick. Compared to other 17-inch systems like the MSI GT76 Titan (6 pounds, 1 inch), Asus ROG Mothership (10.4 pounds, 1 inch) or Alienware Area-51m (9 pounds, 2 inches), it’s not as bulky but it’s not slim by any means either. The Acer Predator Triton 500 (5 pounds, 0.7 inch) is smaller than all of them but costs considerably less than those models as well as this one from Sager.

The Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz Quad Core Processor is a 64-bit quad-core processor with a base clock speed of 2.8 GHz, which can be boosted to 3.8 GHz using Intel’s Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology. Pros and Cons of ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6″ QHD 165Hz IPS Gaming Laptop

Display

The ASUS Zephyrus has been meticulously designed to deliver the best possible viewing experience. The 15.6-inch QHD display features a 165Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync technology to deliver the smoothest gaming experience with no lag or motion blur. With such an outstanding display, you can enjoy playing your favorite games to your heart’s content. You’ll be blown away by the high quality of visuals produced by this laptop.

Battery Life

The ASUS Zephyrus’ battery life is a bit of a double-edged sword. While it allows you to play for longer periods of time, there are times where it drains faster than you would like it to, especially when running demanding applications or games that require high graphics settings. If you’re planning on playing intensive games or using this laptop for work purposes, it may not last as long as other laptops without reducing performance significantly due to its battery limitations (it is only rated at 50Wh).

Price

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6″ QHD Gaming Laptop comes at a price tag of $1,699 USD and is worth every penny! This laptop offers more than just great performance; it also boasts gorgeous aesthetics that make it stand out from the crowd in style! Even though there are some cons such as limited battery life compared with other laptops on the market today, these minor issues shouldn’t stop anyone from purchasing this amazing piece of technology if they have enough money saved up – which I’m sure most people do when buying their first laptop anyway! And even though we haven’t mentioned all of them here yet… trust me when I say that there are many more pros about this one than cons (and vice versa).

Drawbacks of ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6″ QHD 165Hz IPS Gaming Laptop

As perfect as the ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6″ QHD 165Hz IPS Gaming Laptop is, there are a few things you should be aware of before buying it. First, the trackpad is awkwardly positioned to the right of the keyboard, and its placement makes it difficult to use effectively when not playing games. The trackpad also feels strange to use. Additionally, though this laptop has a 512GB hard drive, it does not have an SSD—this means that booting up and loading apps will take more time than on other laptops with SSDs. This computer only has a 1080p display, so gamers who need higher resolution may want to look elsewhere.

Additionally, some users have found the G Sync mode difficult to activate. Though this feature allows your graphics card and display to synchronize their refresh rates in order to reduce screen tearing and stuttering while gaming, getting it working can be confusing at first if you aren’t familiar with how GPUs work (though most tech-savvy gamers won’t have any problems). Finally, this laptop’s fan can get loud under certain conditions—it tends to get louder when GPU performance is high or when the CPU temperature exceeds 81 degrees Celsius (or 176 degrees Fahrenheit).

The base model starts at $1,949 and can be upgraded with more RAM and storage space at an additional cost. The machine comes with a free copy of Borderlands 2 and your choice of 1 year warranty or lifetime support on parts replacement.

The Clevo X170 is the entry-level workstation laptop with a 17 inch screen, but it doesn’t mean this is a bad notebook. The display can be set up at 3840*2160, and the GTX 1070 ensures that you wont have any problems with gaming or working.

The X170 can be set up with either an IPS panel from Sharp or a TN panel from AUO, which will give you a choice between better color reproduction and better response times. If you’re coming from an old 1080p display, the 3840×2160 resolution will seem like twice as many pixels to move around, but luckily the Intel Core i7-6700HQ and the Nvidia GTX 1070 are more than ready to handle it.

You can also upgrade this laptop up to 32GB of RAM and add two M.2 2280 SSDs or 2×2.5 inch hard drives inside of it, plus there’s a Thunderbolt 3 port for connecting external 4K displays or other high-bandwidth peripherals.

Clevo has built an excellent laptop case, that feels premium and expensive, while still remaining easy to service. The cooling system is also pretty good, but keeps the CPU from over clocking.

Clevo is a Taiwanese manufacturer that OEMs their laptops to several brands, such as Sager, Eurocom and Schenker. They have an incredibly large selection of different cases in various sizes and configurations. The Clevo X170 is an 17 inch workstation laptop with a high end Geforce GTX 980M GPU and a desktop processor (the Intel Core i7-4960X). Our test configuration retails for $2,975 USD.

The design of the X170 is very nice. It looks sleek and premium without being too flashy. Clevo has done an excellent job with the build quality of this case – it feels expensive and sturdy without weighing too much or being overly bulky. You get lots of plastic on this version (there are other finishes available), but the quality is good enough to make us forget about that fact completely. Moreover, the chassis does not make any creaking noises when flexed or twisted under pressure, which suggests it should be quite durable (with proper care).

This laptop gets up to a 97 Wh battery, which is enough power for about 6 hours of web browsing and about one hour of gaming.

The Clevo notebook offers a huge, 97 Wh battery that’s capable of lasting up to 6 hours in web browsing tests. This is wonderful for all-day work days away from power, but gaming machines aren’t meant to be used without the charger. Gaming performances will last about an hour before you’ll need to plug back in. Luckily, the laptop comes with a 230 W power adapter that will charge your battery up to 80% in about an hour.

This laptop features two M.2 2280 ports and two 2.5 inch hard drive bays.

To further expand the storage capabilities of this laptop, it features two M.2 2280 ports and two 2.5 inch hard drive bays. This setup allows you to use M.2 SSDs for blazing-fast speeds, with 2.5 inch drives for large amounts of storage space. You can use RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, or JBOD if you choose to configure your drives in a RAID array. You also have the option of using a SATA SSD or HDD if you do not want to use the M.2 SSD slots available in this laptop or simply need more storage than what is provided by one or two SATA SSDs/HDDs.

As far as ports go, you get a Thunderbolt 3 port, 4x USB 3.0 Type A, a VGA port, a HDMI port, an RJ45 ethernet port and a card reader for SD cards.

As far as ports go, you get a Thunderbolt 3 port, 4x USB 3.0 Type A, a VGA port, a HDMI port, an RJ45 ethernet port and a card reader for SD cards. As you can see from the picture above it also has some audio jacks and a power input for the AC adapter. To be honest, I would have liked to see more than one USB Type C connector (USB-C), this is kind of the future standard that we’ll be seeing on all of our devices in some way or another eventually so having more than one on this laptop would have been nice just from this perspective.

If you’re looking for an excellent workstation laptop, the X170 has all you need in one package; workstation performance along with gaming capabilities

The CUK Clevo X170 is a great choice for anyone looking for a powerful and portable workstation. Whether you’re a graphics designer, video editor or just looking to play games, the CUK Clevo X170 won’t let you down.

Who should buy the X170? If you’re looking for an excellent workstation laptop, the X170 has all you need in one package; workstation performance along with gaming capabilities.

The display on this machine is fantastic. It’s a 17″ IPS FHD panel with wide viewing angles and great color accuracy and contrast.

The cooling system performs as it should, keeping temperatures under 80 degrees Celsius under load. The chassis itself is also well designed, with enough room to upgrade components such as the HDD or SSD if needed.

The keyboard feels nice and responsive while typing which makes the experience enjoyable without fatigue after long hours of use (you can also choose between English and international keyboards). The webcam works well and supports Skype HD video calls even at 720p resolution.

Battery life is decent too; around 4 hours while using Corel Draw running from 100% battery to 20%, then another 2-3 hours later from 20% to 0%. The battery charges fast too as it goes from 0% up to 50% within 1 hour 10 minutes or so on my unit (this may vary depending on your power outlet).

Pros and Cons of CUK Clevo X170 KMG 17 Inch Workstation Gaming Notebook

The CUK Clevo X170KMG-G supports up to a GTX 1070. Given the power in this system, it’s no surprise that it delivered excellent performance.

Thanks to its large battery and efficient components, you can expect the X170KMG-G to last for about five hours on a charge. It will more than accommodate most of your workday without needing to be plugged in.

The keyboard is one of the best I’ve used on any laptop and rivals some desktop keyboards as well. The touchpad offers excellent tracking and gesture support, though it takes some getting used to because of its unusual size.

Opening up the X170KMG-G is very easy: all you need is a screwdriver and about two minutes. This makes upgrading or servicing the notebook extremely simple.

Drawbacks of CUK Clevo X170 KMG 17 Inch Workstation Gaming Notebook

There are a few things that need improvement on the CUK X170. First, the placement of the speakers could be better. They should be placed in a position where they are not muffled when you have it on your lap or desk. Secondly, there is no Thunderbolt 3 port and SD card reader. These two ports would have been very useful for users who require them for work purposes. The keyboard does not have back-lighting as well which is lacking for such a performance driven laptop like this one, but it is understandable given the price point at which it is sold at. Lastly, the touch pad could be better and more responsive to multitouch gestures, but again I think we can let this slide given its price point in comparison to other laptops with similar specifications and design.

If you’re looking for a new gaming laptop, performance probably ranks near the top of your list of priorities. Luckily, gaming laptops are almost all built with this consideration in mind. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) is an excellent example of a melding of the two worlds; it helps you play games, but it also manages to be incredibly thin and light. With its 0.7-inch thickness and 6.3-pound weight, this machine is much more portable than many other 17-inch gaming laptops on the market. It’s even small enough to fit into most standard bags—no cumbersome backpack required!

Design and features

The ROG Strix Scar 17 is one of the most modern gaming laptops around. Its 300Hz display is a rarity among gaming laptops and it’s joined by other top-end components like an Intel Core i9 processor and an Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics card. The laptop also includes a per-key RGB keyboard and flashy external lighting, which will catch the attention of friends in your next multiplayer session.

However, despite having the high-end specs of a luxury system, ASUS was able to keep its price down to $2,800 by making some concessions with the build quality. The laptop has plenty of plastic parts that detract from its otherwise premium appearance and feel.

Connectivity and audio

You have a Thunderbolt™ 4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ port, an HDMI 2.0b port, an RJ45 Ethernet jack, and a headphone jack.

The overall design of the audio system has been upgraded to improve audio quality with larger speakers and improved chambers that reproduce sound with more power and range than before. ROG Sonic Studio III provides high-quality gaming audio, while ROG Sonic Radar III displays sound position on desktops for enhanced situational awareness in supported games.

Performance

As for performance, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) Gaming Laptop offers an 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor (CPU), Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card (GPU), 16 GB of DDR4 2933MHz RAM, 1 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD storage, and a 90Wh battery. In the Geekbench 5 CPU test, the laptop scored 731 in single-core and 4,721 in multi-core tests.

In the gaming benchmark test with Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p resolution with high settings, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 recorded a framerate of 70 fps. At 1440p resolution with ultra settings, it got a framerate of 52 fps. It also averaged 73 fps in Fortnite at 1080p resolution with max settings enabled on video presets and 120Hz refresh rate mode; this is below its 100fps target but still great for most people’s needs anyway.

Battery life

Battery life is a mixed bag. For light activities, like watching YouTube videos or editing Google Docs, the battery lasts for about four hours. That’s pretty much average for a high-end gaming laptop. For gaming, expect to get anywhere from one hour of battery life to three hours, depending on the graphics settings you use. At maximum settings and connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, the battery lasted for about an hour. On medium settings and with airplane mode activated (to prevent Wi-Fi connectivity), it lasted just over two hours.

In short: The Scar 17’s battery life is fine enough if you’re only going to be doing work or watching videos on your laptop during most of your day away from home—and it will last long enough for you even if you need to play some games once in awhile. If your primary activity on this laptop will be gaming (which would be a waste) then bring a charger with you at all times—or stay at home where there’s guaranteed power outlet access nearby.

Software and warranty

This laptop comes with a 6-month subscription for Microsoft Office 365, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and more. You’ll also get a 1-month trial for McAfee LiveSafe.

This laptop has a 1-year limited warranty.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) is a powerful gaming laptop with a great display and features, but competitors offer more for the price.

The 17-inch ASUS ROG Strix Scar is a solid gaming laptop, but it’s not the best you can get for the money. The Asus has major upsides, including its bright screen with a high refresh rate and an excellent keyboard. But at $2,449, it costs more than competing systems from Lenovo and Alienware that offer more powerful CPUs and GPUs.

Bottom Line: The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) is a powerful gaming laptop with a great display and features, but competitors offer more for the price.

Pros and Cons of ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) Gaming Laptop

I liked the new Moonstone White color scheme. It makes this laptop look serious and fun at the same time. The lid is almost entirely white, save for a black ROG logo in the center and a scar through it. I like that there’s a subtle red dot on the trackpad and keyboard backlight as well. The “Scar” name comes from how this laptop has an angular pattern on its rear vents, which also glow red.

Speaking of the backlight, there’s an RGB strip along the front lip of the laptop that shines cool colors with default settings but can be customized via software later on — though I wish it could be seen from more angles when closed. The lighting works well to match the overall tone of a room since it’s bright enough to be visible under daylight (as opposed to dimly glowing LEDs). My favorite part about the design is that all those glassy parts have soft touch finishes here, so fingerprints are less noticeable and picking up dust is easier if you’re OCD like me.

Drawbacks of ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 (2021) Gaming Laptop

ASUS’s ROG line of gaming laptops features an interesting and stylish design. The “Strix” name plays into the design, as the black stripes at the top of the laptop turn up to form a spiky crest where they meet. A burgundy stripe runs down the middle, while light touches of silver add some vibrancy. This laptop is almost ready for a LAN party.

The first thing we were struck by was how thin this machine is; it’s only 0.6 inches thick! The second was its performance: this machine should be able to handle anything you throw at it—and we mean anything! With 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, and a 256 GB SSD, you can do whatever you want with this laptop and still leave some room for other things (like your Steam library).
