This product has a staggering amount of positive reviews on Best Buy’s website—9.4/10 stars out of 578 reviews! The price tag is rather hefty though: $1,099 on Best Buy’s site right now (see below), which may be steep for some people’s budgets. If you’re looking for a more budget friendly laptop I would recommend the HP Pavilion, which has similar specs but is priced much lower at only $699.

Pros

  • The laptop has a powerful processor
  • The laptop has a great battery life
  • The laptop has a large storage capacity
  • The laptop has a good display
  • The laptop has a good keyboard
  • The laptop has a good trackpad

Cons

While the VivoBook K571 is a powerful machine, it has its drawbacks. The keyboard, while competent, is surprisingly shallow. During my testing, I found that bottoming out during typing led to noisy key clacking and poor feedback response, which are unexpected in a laptop of this price point. The touchpad also left much to be desired; it was quite clunky on the part of ASUS to include such an unresponsive input device in a laptop that might otherwise be considered great for gaming and general use. Additionally, the dimness of the screen means that you’ll want to keep your curtains drawn when using this computer—even if you’re just watching YouTube videos or browsing social media. Finally, although this is a relatively minor complaint, I must note that the speakers were rather quiet even when turned up all the way; background noise (children crying/dogs barking/house parties) could easily drown out whatever’s happening on-screen.

The power adapter is decently small and light at 65W AC power adapter, 2.47 pounds (.52 pounds).

Exterior dimensions (LxWxH): 36cm x 24.3cm x 2cm / 14.17” x 9.57” x 0.79”

Weight: 2kg / 4.4 lbs

Performance and Battery Life

The VivoBook K571 isn’t as powerful as some of the other laptops on this list, but it’s still more than capable for day-to-day tasks. On Geekbench 4.1, a synthetic benchmark that measures overall performance, the K571 scored 17,928. That’s significantly below the mainstream notebook average (20,764), but it tops the scores of both the Asus TUF FX505 (16,959) and the Dell G3 15 Gaming (17,096). The MSI GV65 Stealth thin (Core i7-8750H CPU; 23,054) beat everyone by a mile thanks to its beefier processor.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’re looking for a laptop to handle some business travel or simply need something that can keep pace with your home entertainment needs, the ASUS VivoBook K571 is a solid option that delivers in both areas and costs less than $1,000.

While we’d like to see more powerful graphics performance and longer battery life, the VivoBook K571 makes up for these shortcomings by offering a vivid display, strong performance and a comfortable keyboard in a sleek design.

The ASUS VivoBlog K571 laptop delivers outstanding performance for a good price.

The ASUS VivoBook K571 laptop delivers outstanding performance for a good price. Overall, the $799 model is highly recommended for those who want to multi-task and work with multiple tabs open at once. It is also a great value and packs quite the punch in the performance category, thanks to its Intel Core i7 processor.

This laptop has some impressive things going for it: The system’s Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU works well with the laptop’s 144 Hz display, resulting in a smooth visuals that make it easier to game or watch movies while on-the-go (and it makes this setup an excellent value compared to other laptops). The display itself offers FHD resolution and has thin bezels so that there are no distractions from your content (although you may have issues if you happen to have one). The keyboard is crisp enough for long typing sessions, but this can also mean that it’s fairly springy when pressing down on keys too quickly. And lastly, the battery life definitely makes up for any shortcomings in portability; you’ll get about 10 hours out of this little guy over all!

However, there are some drawbacks as well: While we like how easy it was to plug in USB devices without needing adapters or dongles (a plus), the ports felt a bit cramped together next each other on either side of this machine – which means if something goes wrong with one cord then all might not be lost. Also worth noting is that because of how lightweight they feel when holding them up before typing away at home/in an office setting — working just feels like less effortful than usual due to their ergonomic design combined with anti-glare coating applied on top.”

Pros and Cons of ASUS VivoBook K571 Laptop

ASUS VivoBook K571 is a stylish and powerful laptop that comes with excellent specifications and top-notch features. The large 15.6” screen of the laptop gives you the ultimate viewing experience. It has a high-quality screen resolution and an Intel Core i7 9th Generation processor that can run any application with ease. This Asus laptop also comes with 12GB RAM that lets you multitask efficiently and never run out of power while doing so. The 1TB hard drive lets you store all your important files, documents, images, videos, music, etc., on this portable computer without having to carry an external storage device along wherever you go.

Pros:

  • Big screen
  • Excellent performance
  • Ample storage space

Drawbacks of ASUS VivoBook K571 Laptop

  • Terrible Webcam

As with many laptops in this price range, the webcam will not be winning any awards. It only manages to capture 720p video, which is poor quality even by the standards of mediocre laptops.

The built-in microphone also is of poor quality. Unless you are willing to buy (and carry around) a separate headset and microphone, you’ll have to settle for a subpar audio experience from the camera’s internal mic.

  • Low-quality Display

The ASUS VivoBook K571 Laptop has a 15.6″ display with no touchscreen functionality. It offers only HD resolution (at 1366 x 768), meaning that it can’t even compete with some of the cheapest phones on the market today! The display does not offer HDR support either, so your media won’t have the vibrant colors that it should if viewed on another device or through a streaming service like Netflix or YouTube.

This laptop’s screen is sluggish as well—the response time isn’t great when using it as an external monitor connected via HDMI cable or USB port connection

to other devices such as game consoles and Blu-Ray players (as exemplified by its 60hz refresh rate). If these flaws weren’t bad enough on their own, they’re compounded by insufficient viewing angles while watching movies: because there’s only one angle where everything looks good without distortion or glare coming from overhead lights/windows etc.. Fortunately though this will probably never bother most people due to how portable these types of computers tend to be nowadays anyways .

If you’re looking for a lightweight system that can work all day, the LG gram Thin and Light Laptop is a near perfect pick.

Putting this laptop in your bag feels like adding nothing, as it weighs just 2.2 pounds, which is barely more than the weight of an iPad Pro 12.9-inch, which costs more and has only half the storage space. This is particularly important when traveling because every ounce counts on an airplane or train when packing light. If you need to take notes in class or at meetings all day, you won’t even notice that the LG gram is in your bag because it’s so light.

The LG gram Thin and Light Laptop is a good option if you’re looking for a lightweight system that can work all day.

You’re in a meeting. Your colleague is rambling on so long that the room is starting to get uncomfortably warm. His voice has become monotonous. You have a headache and his words are fading into white noise. Then, you notice something out of the corner of your eye: a laptop. A pure, elegant product with an HD widescreen display and precision touchpad. A lightweight, but powerful machine that will last an entire workday on just one charge (it’s battery life is 21 hours!). This laptop is sleek, slim and stylish—just like you were born to be! It’s called the LG gram Thin and Light Laptop; it’s the perfect option for someone who needs to stay productive while enduring interminable board meetings or marathon gaming sessions!

Weighing just 2.2 pounds, the LG gram is extremely light and an ideal pick for frequent travelers.

The LG gram is extremely light and easy to carry around. It’s so small, it hardly takes up any space in your backpack or briefcase. It also sports an unusually slim profile, making it comfortable to use for long periods of time. This makes the LG gram a great choice for frequent travelers who need a sturdy yet portable laptop that won’t weigh them down.

For connectivity, the laptop has two USB-C ports, one USB 3.0 port, and one HDMI slot.

For connectivity, the laptop has two USB-C ports, one USB 3.0 port, and one HDMI slot. These ports allow you to connect to external displays and accessories like LG’s USB-C to RJ45 dongle.

The LG gram is also very power efficient, giving you nearly 8 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The LG gram 15 is also very power efficient, which means you can get nearly a full 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. This makes the LG gram 15 ideal for on-the-go business travelers and students alike. Whether you’re making last-minute edits in between meetings, or working on a term paper at Starbucks, the LG gram’s long battery life will ensure that you can finish your project without having to search for an outlet. And when you find yourself needing to squeeze in some extra work from home after dinner (or just want to bingewatch Netflix with no interruptions), you won’t have to worry about running out of juice before it’s time for bed.

The keyboard is comfortable to type on and we appreciate the generous 1.5mm of key travel.

The keyboard is comfortable to type on and we appreciate the generous 1.5mm of key travel. That’s a decent amount for a laptop that’s as thin as an ultrabook, and it gives you a good feel when you’re typing at normal speeds. We were able to type fast after just a few minutes of getting used to it.

The keys are also well-spaced, so there’s not much chance of accidentally hitting the wrong one next to what you’re trying to hit. It takes up most of the space on the laptop, and there is no number pad or other extra features on it, but that works out just fine for us and most users who need this kind of ultraportable laptop for light tasks like browsing, writing documents, or creating spreadsheets.

Overall we found the keyboard comfortable enough for long sessions of typing without any strain accumulating in our hands or wrists over time. Of course this will vary somewhat depending on your own particular ergonomics while using it and how sensitive you may be to things like wrist position when using a trackpad versus using a mouse instead.

There are plenty of reasons why the LG gram makes for an impressive laptop, but its biggest selling point is its weight.

There are plenty of reasons why the LG gram makes for an impressive laptop, but its biggest selling point is its weight—or lack thereof. At less than 2.2 pounds, the LG gram is on par with the lightest laptops in the game, which means it’s perfect for those who consider portability to be a top priority. This featherweight computer weighs less than a bag of sugar, a can of soda, and even a bag of flour (which we will admit is pretty damn impressive). It also weighs less than a bag of rice—so you could technically strap this bad boy to your back and go out trick-or-treating in true minimalism fashion.

Drawbacks of LG gram Thin and Light Laptop

  • While its display is big, the LG gram Thin and Light Laptop does not come with a touchscreen. While its keyboard keys are backlit, they turn themselves off after inactivity. This means that you cannot simply look at it in the dark to make sure that you know where your fingers are on it; instead, you have to put force into pressing down on a key before knowing whether or not it’s the right one.
  • The LG gram Thin and Light Laptop’s display could be brighter. We found ourselves using as much backlighting as possible just so we can see what we need to get done. Compared to other laptop screens, the brightness of this laptop was worse than average.

The LG gram Thin and Light Laptop is a great option if you want something larger than any available tablet but smaller than most currently available laptops without sacrificing too much functionality or performance: if you don’t mind a lower resolution screen or how heavy this thing is when carrying around with one hand for extended periods of time (probably not long enough for someone who wants better performance).

The Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop is a beautiful and powerful laptop that’s as great for work as it is at playing games.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop is an excellent choice for a laptop, whether you’re looking for something to use for your job or just want to watch some videos and play games from the comfort of your couch. It has all of the features you could possibly want in a thin and light laptop.

Laptops are defined by the size of their screens and measured by the size of their screens. Huawei’s MateBook X Pro has a 13.9-inch screen, but it’s able to fit into an 11-inch frame thanks to a tiny bezel, perhaps the smallest you’ll ever see on a laptop.

  • It features either an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 or Intel Core i5 processor with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. As for graphics processing, everything is handled by an Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU with 2GB RAM.
  • In terms of looks, this thing is best described as minimalist chic. Weighing in at just 2.93 pounds and measuring 0.57 inches in thickness, it’s significantly lighter than competitors like the Dell XPS 13 (2.67 pounds) and MacBook Air (2.96 pounds), although it still feels well built with its aluminum uni-body design and squared off corners giving it a bit more heft than some other ultraportables out there — say, the Samsung Notebook 9 (1 pound).
  • The keyboard is backlit for night owls like me who work long after dark; Huawei claims that this model has been tested for 10 million keystrokes which should be plenty even for my heavy fingers that tend to pound down on keys when working at warp speed during deadlines or in intense games of online Scrabble (please don’t check my stats; I have few friends left after winning so many matches).

The MateBook X Pro has an all-metal body that’s crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum and features curved edges that are sandblasted for a smooth finish. It features an ultra-thin frame and weighs just 2.93 pounds.

With a screen size of 13.9 inches, the device is perfect for those who want a large screen without having to carry around something bulky that weighs several pounds. That is not to say the display is too small—it still provides plenty of space on which to work with its 3k resolution, even if you work within multiple windows at the same time.

  • The ultra slim bezels are perfect for streaming video and playing games on this powerful laptop, which is also great for surfing the web with friends or writing research papers at school.
  • Excellent screen. This 3k touchscreen has good colors and brightness.
  • Good performance. The performance of this laptop is in line with its competition (the Dell XPS 13, Lenovo Yoga C940 14″ and MacBook Pro 16″). It’s not a gaming laptop but it can play some games.
  • Excellent battery life. Battery life is excellent for both normal usage (13+ hours) and mixed usage (8+ hours).
  • Runs cool during light load but gets warm under heavy load. This laptop runs cool during light tasks like browsing the web or working on documents, but it gets warm under heavy load like playing games or running benchmarks. Fans are quiet even when the computer is running under heavy load but you can still hear them from across the room if you’re paying attention to ambient noise levels. You can expect good thermal behavior from this laptop because of its premium build quality: thick aluminum unibody design with no flexing anywhere on top surface near ports; sturdy hinges; solid IO ports that don’t bend under pressure when inserting USB-C cables etc., although they do wobble slightly when nothing is plugged into them which makes me wonder why that wasn’t fixed as part of manufacturing process – maybe just to keep costs down? I guess if these things don’t bother you then it doesn’t really matter either way because everything else about this product looks professional without being too flashy and has great performance at lower price than similar products including Apple’s MacBook Pro 13″ Retina display version which costs more while offering less power/features such as only having one USB-C port instead of two plus an additional micro HDMI port like our model offers; also comes with a faster processor chip (Intel Core i7-8565u vs Apple’s slower Intel Core m3-8100

Pros and Cons of Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop

Pros of using Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop

  • It is thin and light.
  • It features a fast processor.
  • The display is incredible.
  • The battery will last all day long.
  • You can charge it quickly when you do need to power up.

Drawbacks of Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop

One of my biggest pet peeves with this laptop is the awkward-to-use fingerprint reader. It takes up space on the right side of the touchpad, which means I sometimes hit it when I’m clicking, and because it’s not a separate button, if you rest your finger on it while typing your computer will think you’re trying to unlock it. If you have particularly small hands and don’t use the trackpad often (I use a mouse), this won’t be an issue for you.

The webcam placement is also odd: at first glance it’s not visible, because Huawei placed it below the screen in a recessed “pop-up” camera key. It works fine, but I was worried about accidentally snapping off or breaking that camera key when closing my laptop.

The MateBook X Pro is also $1,500 for the base model (a quad-core i5 chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage). That’s more expensive than some other similarly powerful laptops like Dell’s XPS 13 or HP’s Spectre x360 13t—but none of those laptops have as gorgeous a display as Huawei does here.

If you aren’t bothered by these issues and can afford to splurge, however, then this machine is absolutely worth buying—and keeping around for years to come.

The ZenBook 15 is a small 13.9” laptop that has garnered a lot of attention for its likeness to the Apple MacBook Pro. In fact, it’s nearly identical: same size and general shape, same color scheme, super thin and light. The only noticeable difference is the screen ratio: 16:9 on the ZenBook versus 16:10 on the MacBook Pro.

Its size is natively 13.9”, making it the same size as the MacBook Pro. It also uses the same color theme as Apple, using an all white backlight keyboard and rose gold accents on the lid and chassis.

If you just looked at this ZenBook’s side profile, you would think it was a MacBook Pro. It’s even the same size as one, measuring in at 13.9 inches diagonally. The Asus logo is also eerily similar to the Apple logo found on all of its computers, and they use the same color theme as well, with a backlit white keyboard and rose gold accents on the lid and chassis.

If you have never used a Mac before and are looking for an ultraportable laptop that has a similar feel to a MacBook Pro, which doesn’t come cheap starting at $1499 (around £1,150), then look no further than this ZenBook 15.

This laptop is packed with some of the newest technology in laptop hardware and software.

A powerful processor (CPU), discrete graphics card (GPU), fast SSD storage, and ScreenPad 2.0—that’s the perfect recipe for recreational or professional use. The high-performance 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor combined with the dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics card provide you with all the power needed to blaze through any task like photo or video editing, graphic design, 3D modelling, and more.

The ultrafast 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD provides ample room for your data, apps and files while also ensuring that everything loads within seconds.

The ASUS ScreenPad 2.0 is a brilliant addition to this laptop; it acts as an intelligent touchpad that gives you more useable space for your content creation on the ZenBook 15, which makes multitasking easy and effortless. Additionally, it can be used as a second display to have quick access to different apps without having to minimize windows constantly.

With USB Type-C ports on both sides of this laptop and other ports such as HDMI 2.0b/Thunderbolt 3/USB Gen 2 Type A/MicroSD card reader/Audio Combo Jack you will be able to connect any device at hand easily and hassle free.

For storage, this laptop comes with 512GB of Solid State Drive storage along with 16GB RAM, ensuring extremely fast startup times, application load times, and file transfers.

Solid State Drives store all your data on microchips rather than discs. This means that they consume less power and are more reliable. Additionally, they are ten times faster than hard disk drives (HDDs), which can save you a lot of time when loading applications or booting up your machine.

RAM is the amount of memory in a computer that allows it to run multiple programs and processes simultaneously without slowing down. The laptop comes with 16GB RAM as opposed to 8GB RAM for most laptops in this price range, which ensures an even greater level of efficiency when using memory-intensive applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Google Chrome.

Fast startup times mean that you can get going with your tasks much sooner; quick application load times make it possible for you to transition from one task to the next without wasting time; and fast file transfers allow you to share large amounts of information at high speeds.

ASUS has integrated their exclusive ScreenPad technology into this laptop which gives you a whole second touch screen for productivity tools and applications.

ScreenPad 2.0 intelligently fits many apps into the 5.65” touchscreen, and you can effortlessly add apps to ScreenPad for instant access. The newly upgraded ScreenPad experience ensures that your favorite apps, such as Evernote and Spotify, will work perfectly on this secondary display right away, without the need for a ScreenPad-specific version. ASUS worked with third party developers, including video-editing software developer Corel, to optimize adaptive ScreenPad tools for the ultimate productivity — and there’s much more to come.

ScreenPad also supports Office 365 Excel®; as you move your mouse cursor over cells in a worksheet on the primary display, relevant context menus and options automatically appear on the same part of ScreenPad so you don’t have to move between displays. There are also dedicated Handwriting and Number Key functions that enhance productivity even further when using Office 365 applications like Word or PowerPoint®.

This ScreenPad can be controlled by touch or by gestures similar to those used on smart phones where swiping down from the top left corner opens your notifications bar, or swiping from the bottom left corner brings up your application window selection menu to switch between tasks easily.

On the ZenBook 15, your ScreenPad is a second full-color touchscreen that gives you new ways to work with your laptop. It’s an interactive display with helpful functions that intelligently adapt to match whatever you’re doing, making it easier and quicker to multitask and get things done.

ScreenPad can be controlled by touch or by gestures similar to those used on smart phones where swiping down from the top left corner opens your notifications bar, or swiping from the bottom left corner brings up your application window selection menu to switch between tasks easily.

The ScreenPad also supports handwriting input with the ASUS Pen stylus (sold separately) for greater productivity and creativity.

Pros and Cons of ASUS ZenBook 15 Ultra-Slim Laptop

  • Pros:
  • Large touchpad with finger gestures and a Microsoft Precision Touchpad that responds instantly to multitouch or multifinger input.
  • Integrated Intel UHD graphics, which are integrated into the processor but don’t share system memory and are capable of handling some demanding video games.
  • Has a dedicated Nvidia graphic card for advanced video games and other high-end rendering applications. The Nvidia GeForce 1650 is not the top graphic card on the market but is adequate for most gaming needs. Also, it’s not a dedicate GPU (graphics processing unit) like it could be, making it less reliable than other laptops.
  • A Thunderbolt 3 port supports connecting up to two 4K external monitors simultaneously or one 5K monitor at 60 Hz refresh rates for sharp visuals with realistic detail and vivid color when viewing video content. It also supports connecting compatible external graphics cards via an expansion chassis with Thunderbolt 3 connection, making it possible to game on ultra-high settings even when you’re away from your desk.

Drawbacks of ASUS ZenBook 15 Ultra-Slim Laptop

While this laptop is very strong in terms of performance and as a productivity machine, it doesn’t have the best build quality, it’s big and heavy and its battery life can use some improvements.

Another drawback is the price: In order to get the version with 2TB SSD, you have to pay $2,999 which is quite expensive.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop is a brand new gaming laptop from Lenovo, and it’s a perfect choice for those who want to do more than just play games on their laptops. It’s got some of the most powerful specs in its class, and you’re sure to find yourself impressed with how smoothly everything runs. Whether you’re using it for work or just kicking back with a game of Overwatch, you’ll enjoy this powerful gaming machine.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop gets most of the basics right.

The battery life is average, the body is narrow, and it has a webcam cover. The screen is clear and bright, the sound quality is good, and it has space for an SD card. It’s not as thin or as attractive as some laptops of its size in this price range. One only needs to look at the laptop’s glowing red plasma-like logo on its lid to know that this machine isn’t made for subtlety. The L340 Gaming looks like a gaming desktop shrunk down into a 15-inch laptop form factor.

But that’s not to say it’s baron of features.

But that’s not to say it’s baron of features. It comes with up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU and lets you choose between an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or GTX 1050, so you can have the power you need for both gaming and multitasking. You also get full HD display options on all models and up to a 512GB PCIe SSD.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop is available in multiple variants starting at Rs 76,000.

For starters, it comes in three display options: a 1080p IPS panel with slim bezels, or a 1080p tiltable touch screen or a 4K screen.

For starters, it comes in three display options: a 1080p IPS panel with slim bezels, or a 1080p tiltable touch screen or a 4K screen. The former two are available only on the pricier i7 variants, whereas the latter is available across all variants. We reviewed the blue variant and were quite pleased with its build quality and aesthetics, though we wish there were more color options to choose from.

The hinges feel strong, making it easy to open the lid with one hand. The sturdy plastic chassis does not flex under pressure and weighs only 5.3 pounds (around 2.4 kgs) which makes it comfortable to carry around in your bag.

The latter two are available only on the pricier i7 variants.

The Ideapad L340 Gaming is available in three variants, two of which are powered by the Intel Core i5-9300H and one with the Core i7-9750H. The former pair comes with a 1080p IPS panel and the latter has an option of either a 1080p tiltable touch screen or a 4K panel. While this might seem like overkill on paper, keep in mind that both panels have a refresh rate of only 60Hz. The higher resolution will help with productivity but won’t make much difference during gaming.

The laptop is available in two color options – Abyss Blue and Granite Black – and has an overall sleek look.

The Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop is available in two colour options: Abyss Blue and Granite Black. The L340-15IRH gaming laptop has a plastic chassis, but it doesn’t feel fragile or flimsy. The blue colour variant that I reviewed has a nice finish to it and also doesn’t attract fingerprints or smudges easily. It feels like the laptop has a strong build quality overall, although you can find some cheaper models in the market with better build quality.

We reviewed the blue variant and the company has done a good job with the colour tones that look attractive.

The IdeaPad L340-15IRH is the mid-range gaming laptop from Lenovo in the budget segment. It performs well during casual gaming sessions but falls flat on its face when it comes to intensive AAA games. Despite this, the laptop has a good battery life and decent build quality.

The Ideapad L340-15IRH offers above average performance and it also provides very good battery life but what makes it stand out is its lightweight form factor that makes it easy to carry around. However, there are a few things that we did not like about the laptop, such as its dim display and poor speakers. Consequently, if you want a budget gaming laptop with a good battery life and reasonable performance, then this might be an ideal choice for you.

The chassis is made with plastic but it has a smooth finish and feels sturdy so you can easily carry it around.

You can use the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming in your lap thanks to its plastic chassis, which has a smooth metal finish and feels sturdy. The laptop weighs just over 5 pounds, so you can easily carry it around the home or office without getting tired. It not only feels good in hand but also looks great when you open it up.

It is light at 2.3kgs, so you can easily take it to college or even use it for work on-the-go.

As a gaming laptop, you would think it’s heavy and bulky, but that is far from the truth. It is light at 2.3kgs, so you can easily take it to college or even use it for work on-the-go.

One thing we like about Lenovo laptops is that they tend to have comfortable keyboards, and this one is no different..

Of course, what good is the GPU if you can’t make it work? Fortunately, the keyboard here is competent and easy to use. Good laptop keyboards should be spacious enough to allow users to comfortably type at full speed without making mistakes. They should also be relatively quiet, as loud typing can disrupt coworkers or family members who are trying to concentrate on their own tasks. The keyboard on the Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop offers all of these qualities and more. Lenovo keyboards have always been solid, but this one stands out for its particularly well-spaced keys and wide layout that makes typing a breeze.

The trackpad is also impressive; like most modern laptops, this one has a glass surface with support for Windows Precision Touchpad gestures like pinch-zoom and multi-finger scrolling. It’s smooth, accurate, and responsive—perfect for nonstop gaming sessions where things need to happen instantly.

Fit and finish might be an issue, such as visible glue lines where the plastic backplate meets smaller metallic panels located above the keyboard, but it was enough to put us off using this laptop daily..

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop ticks all the right boxes by offering enough power, battery life and solid build quality. The laptop is available in two colour options – Abyss Blue and Granite Black – and has an overall sleek look.

The keyboard and touchpad on the Ideapad L340 are both decent, but nothing to write home about. The keys have a good amount of travel but they feel a bit mushy while typing. We don’t mind this on a work machine but if you’re someone who spends most of your time typing, we would suggest trying out the keyboard first before finalising the purchase.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop ticks all the right boxes by offering enough power, battery life and solid build quality.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop ticks all the right boxes by offering enough power, battery life and solid build quality. If you are looking for a laptop with decent gaming performance and a comfortable keyboard under $1000, this is it. However, if you can spend more, we recommend going for laptops with better build quality like the MSI G65 Stealth or Razer Blade 15.

Pros and Cons of Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop

  • Intel Core i5 9300H Processor.
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD.
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB DDR5 Graphics Card.
  • 15.6″ Full HD Display.

Cons of Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop

Pros of Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop

You have to make sure you get the proper size and length screws, because it’s easy to strip them if they are too long, which can end up damaging your machine.

Drawbacks of Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop

Things to be wary of:

  • Design: The chassis isn’t quite stylish enough to stand out in a world of increasingly more eye-catching gaming laptops like the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 or Alienware m17. The laptop’s lid is all glossy black plastic, but with a bit of texture to it that resembles small pieces of carbon fiber. The inside has a color-matched keyboard and touchpad, with some red accents along the bottom and side edges (and on the center island keys). It’s subtle enough that you could take it into an office setting, if you’re one of those people who works at an office!
  • Keyboard: Lenovo uses fairly shallow keys here, which don’t have much travel, as compared to other laptops. With less distance from key cap to key base you have less softness in the center when hitting your desired key press targets — meaning that there are fewer ways to avoid bottoming out when typing on the IdeaPad L340 Gaming.
  • Sound quality: While we usually prefer larger speakers for better sound quality, we can’t deny how awe-inspiring the sound felt while playing Far Cry 5 or Battlefield V on this machine. While adjusting my audio settings during both games, I was amazed at how loud and resonant each gunshot and explosion sounded through this laptop’s speakers—something I never thought would be possible with such small drivers packed inside such a slim machine. For comparison’s sake, while playing Fortnite on my MacBook Pro and Razer Blade Stealth (both excellent machines), I couldn’t even hear enemy footsteps until they were right on top of me unless I cranked the volume up past 75 percent — which then made even distant gunshots sound a little too tinny for comfort.

Acer Aspire 7 Laptop is a good laptop for gaming. It has a good battery life, an awesome display and good keyboard and touchpad. It also has super performance. However it is an expensive laptop.

Design

The Aspire 7 has a more premium look than its price suggests. It’s thinner and lighter than most budget gaming laptops, yet feels robust thanks to its sturdy plastic construction. A grey brushed-metal finish on the lid gives the laptop an understated look that wouldn’t be out of place in a boardroom or classroom.

At 2.9 pounds, the Aspire 7 is significantly lighter than the Acer Nitro 5 (5 pounds) and Dell G3 15 Gaming (5.6 pounds). The Asus TUF FX504GD is a bit lighter at 5 pounds, but it costs $100 more than our test configuration of the Aspire 7.

Display

The Aspire 7’s 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 IPS display is on par with other budget laptops. The 60Hz panel offers reasonably narrow viewing angles, average brightness and color accuracy, and a matte finish with an anti-glare coating. However, the screen is slightly dim compared to other displays of this size, which is especially noticeable when you’re trying to work outdoors.

Acer did not include a backlit keyboard on the Aspire 7 like some more expensive models do for typing in dark environments. Below the keyboard sits a large touchpad with Windows 10 gestures support.

Keyboard and trackpad

The keyboard is a nice change of pace from the flimsy, shallow keyboards of Dell’s Inspiron laptops. The keys have a decent 1.6 millimeters of travel and require 69 grams of force to actuate. The layout is standard with a number pad on the right side, but it isn’t backlit.

The touchpad is wide and spacious, as I expected it to be on a 17-inch device, but the surface felt slippery. I wish it had more texture so that my fingers didn’t feel like they were sliding around so much when executing gestures or simply moving the cursor across the screen.

Performance

The Aspire 7 is available with a lot of different configurations, but our unit is representative of the mid-range. It sports an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU. The 1.5GHz Intel Core i5-8250U CPU (with 3.4GHz Turbo Boost) is part of Intel’s Kaby Lake R family of processors that targets thin and light laptops. Despite being a “budget” mainstream chip, it has four cores and can handle multi-tasking with ease or chew through complex tasks like video editing or photo manipulation. While it’s not as powerful as the quad-core HQ processors found in gaming laptops, this chip offers good performance for the price

Battery life

The battery life on the Acer Aspire 7 laptop is not good.

The battery life on the Acer Aspire 7 laptop is not bad.

The battery life on the Acer Aspire 7 laptop is not sufficient for your needs.

The battery life on the Acer Aspire 7 laptop is neither long nor short. It meets most users’ needs for battery runtime without impressing them either way.

Gaming and graphics

The Aspire 7 comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, one of Nvidia’s latest graphics chips. You’ll need to spend more money for the RTX 2060, which is a step above the GTX 1650 and will last longer as video games get more graphically demanding. The Aspire 7 can run older titles smoothly at high frame rates with the settings cranked up, and it can even handle newer games if you dial things back a bit. But it’s not a gaming powerhouse.

For such a big laptop, the Aspire 7 has a decent keyboard and touchpad. The keys are soft and responsive, with not much travel but enough resistance to keep your fingers from feeling like they’re flying over the keys when you type quickly. I also appreciated that they dimmed when I watched videos in bed with my partner so she wasn’t blinded; it was an unexpected perk of this otherwise simple keyboard.

Acer Aspire 7 price and configurations

The Acer Aspire 7 costs $999 and comes with an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB of VRAM, a 256GB SSD with a 1TB 5400-rpm hard drive, 8GB of RAM and a 1920 x 1080-pixel display.

As previously mentioned, the Acer Aspire 7 is available in different configurations that have the same chassis but different parts. The $1,099 version has the same specs as our review unit except for its 512GB SSD and 16GB of RAM.

Acer also offers a $799 model that uses an Intel Core i5-8300H CPU rather than the Core i7 found in our configuration. This cheaper model also has only 4GB of VRAM instead of 6.

Bottom line

Should you buy it?

Yes. If you’re a student or someone who works on the go, then this is a great machine to get. It has great build quality, excellent battery life, and strong everyday performance. The only people I wouldn’t recommend it to are gamers and creatives who require a high-end graphics card or lots of processing power to push rendering and video editing programs — in that case, they should consider spending more money on a workstation machine with dedicated GPUs.

The Acer Aspire 7 is a decent gaming notebook for the price.

The Acer Aspire 7 is a decent gaming notebook for the price.

If you’re looking for value in a gaming laptop, the Acer Aspire 7 ($1,099 to start, $1,399 as tested) offers a fine mix of power and affordability. While its display isn’t as vivid as we’d like and its battery life below average, this machine delivers good frame rates on all but the most demanding games at settings that result in high-quality graphics. Plus, if you’re not willing to spend at least $1,000 on a laptop with these features (and who is?) you’ll be hard-pressed to find another system that performs just as well but can also afford you luxuries like an SSD and 16GB of RAM.

Pros and Cons of Acer Aspire 7 Laptop

Design

The Acer Aspire 7 looks a lot like the Predator Helios 300. Both have a silver, anodized aluminum chassis and thin bezels around the display. Acer’s logo is on the lid, while “Acer” is written in gray letters near the bottom of the lid.

I prefer this design to that of some other gaming laptops because it doesn’t look over-the-top like an Alienware laptop or Asus’ ROG Strix models. At 4.9 pounds and 15 x 10 x 1 inches, it’s not as thin as some other gaming laptops but not bad for a 15-inch laptop that costs less than $1,000.

Drawbacks of Acer Aspire 7 LaptopAcer Aspire 7 Laptop

The Acer Aspire 7 has a dull display, a shallow keyboard and a short battery life.

The Acer Aspire 7 is a decent gaming notebook for the price.

The Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop is a sleek, versatile machine that offers good performance for the money. It weighs 3.97 pounds, has a 15.6-inch screen, and its Intel Core i5 processor makes it capable of handling day-to-day tasks such as word processing and internet browsing with ease.

The Acer Aspire 5 Slim is slim, light, and convenient.

The Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop is slim and light, making it easy to take with you wherever you go. The thin profile doesn’t mean sacrificing power or storage space, as the laptop offers a wide range of options when it comes to processor and memory storage sizes.

It fits easily into various bags and if using it at home, the laptop only takes up a small amount of space in your work area.

The right Acer Aspire 5 laptop offers great portable power for business or pleasure.

No matter what type of laptop you’re looking for, the Acer Aspire 5 is a great option for everyday users, with is variety of color options and an attractive premium metal cover that houses an excellent display. It’s a stylish laptop that’s also powerful and lightweight, so you won’t find yourself bogged down by this portable PC.

Whether you want to put together a work presentation on your commute or need something that can handle running multiple programs at once, this is the perfect choice for anyone who needs real-world performance in a small package.

To get the most out of portability and performance, choose a widescreen display option.

When you’re looking for a laptop, you’ve got two main options: widescreen displays or traditional square displays. Widescreen displays are great if you want the most portable and best-performing system possible. Because they’re long and narrow, they’re great for watching movies on the go, and they also tend to have smaller frames around them so there’s less wasted space. A high-res screen will let you see more of a website or document without having to scroll, which is especially useful if you like to work with several windows open at once.

For those who don’t mind sacrificing some portability for size, choose the larger traditional square display option. It’s perfect for spreadsheets and word processing, as well as anything else that involves lots of information in one window; its 4:3 aspect ratio makes it much more comfortable to take notes from lectures or meetings than a widescreen display would be. The top half of a widescreen display is often too large to view comfortably from this distance when working with text documents or digital images—and if your eyes hurt after working for an hour or two, it can hinder your productivity!

Finally, consider battery life: depending on how bright your screen is set (or whether it’s dimmed at all), even the same model may have different battery lives between models because of their different size screens!

For low-cost options, the E series is an excellent choice.

When it comes to low-cost options, the E series is an excellent choice. The Aspire E5 offers a 15.6-inch display, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive for around $350. It also includes an optical drive, which isn’t common in laptops in this price range.

If you want more premium features, the Aspire E15 has dual hard drives and costs less than $500. Weighing in at 5 pounds (with battery), it’s heavier than most Acer models but still lightweight compared with other laptops on this list. The E17 is even larger and heavier, but provides a 17-inch screen for just $400 — although we suggest spending a bit more for the upgraded model with 8GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive for under $500.

Get more than enough memory with at least 16GB installed in your Acer Aspire 5.

Those looking for a laptop that can handle more than basic web browsing and word processing, or folks that use their laptops for graphic design, video editing and the like should consider at least 16GB of memory. If you are in the market for a machine that can tackle these tasks and more, 32GB of RAM is your best bet. Whether you choose 8GB or 16GB of memory depends on your needs. While it’s true you can always buy more memory later to add to your computer, it’s not as easy as adding it to your cart when you order from Amazon. And if you don’t have much money to spend initially, getting the bare minimum may serve you well enough until such time when you decide to upgrade.

Choose a high-speed processor from Intel or AMD for maximum performance.

The central processing unit (CPU), also known as a processor, is the brain of your computer. It handles all instructions it receives from hardware and software running on the computer. A fast CPU means that you can run more programs at once, or run existing programs quicker than you could on a slower CPU. The speed that a processor operates at is measured in gigahertz (GHz). Intel® and AMD are the leading manufacturers of processors for laptops today.

The higher the number of GHz, the faster the CPU runs. If you’re using your laptop for work or gaming, this is important when running essential programs like Microsoft Office™ or playing games such as Call of Duty™ or Battlefield™ 4 that require intensive processor speed to run smoothly.

The best storage and speed comes from SSD (solid state drive) options for your Acer Aspire 5.

It’s great to have options for both SSD and HDD storage. But the perfect Acer Aspire 5 laptop will come with an SSD, not an HDD. It’s all about taking your user experience to the next level. With a speedier SSD, you can expect your laptop to boot up in as little as 15 seconds, while an HDD could take as long as 30-40 seconds or even more depending on how many programs you have running at once. Don’t get bogged down waiting for files to transfer and programs to load – add an SSD and see what a difference it makes!

If you need more storage and speed but can’t afford an SSD, opt for an HDD (hard disk drive).

If you need more storage space and/or don’t care about speed as much, choose a hard disk drive (HDD) with higher storage capacity. An HDD is slower than an SSD, but it will cost you less money and be more reliable.

Important note: HDDs are generally considered to be more power-efficient than SDDs.

Choose Windows 10 Pro if you need to run programs that only work with that operating system.

The Acer Aspire 5 operates on Windows 10 Home, but if you feel that you need the enterprise-grade security and network connectivity options that come with Windows 10 Pro, we advise upgrading to the Pro version.

Windows 10 Pro is Microsoft’s business operating system, so it offers the highest level of security and support among OSes in the Windows family. You’ll get a firewall and antivirus suite, plus Hyper-V virtualization software for running concurrent computing tasks from multiple machines so you can multitask at maximum efficiency. This would be ideal for doing intensive programming work or creating complicated spreadsheets (among other things). Windows 10 Pro also has Bitlocker data encryption and Remote Desktop capabilities for accessing your desktop computer remotely from a different device. Finally, it supports joining a domain, which means connecting to other computers in an office network or to other devices on your home network.

Windows 10 Home is great for most users who want to check their email or surf the web securely, but if you need all of these extra features (or want them just to be safe), pick up the Pro version instead!

Pros and Cons of Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop

  • Pros:
  • The screen is matte, which helps reduce screen glare.
  • The weight of this laptop is relatively light at 3 pounds.
  • It has a long battery life of up to nine hours.
  • The Windows 10 operating system will be familiar and easy to use if you’ve used any version of Windows in the past.
  • There are many ports for attaching other devices like mice or USB drives, including one USB-C port, two USB 3.1 ports, one HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and an SD card reader slot.
  • The processor is fast enough for most tasks like photo editing and video watching; however it’s not good for gaming or other intensive computer uses.
  • The sound quality from the speakers is above average for laptops in this price range. If you’re using headphones or external speakers you might need a program like Equalizer APO that lets you adjust the sound levels from different frequencies on your own.
  • This laptop has a 1080p screen resolution (1920×1080) which is similar to the HD resolution found on most televisions today; however 4K screens have four times as many pixels which can lead to sharper text and images in some cases but probably isn’t necessary when considering current prices of laptops with 4K screens compared to 1080p screens like this one has. Also keep in mind that if you adjust your screen’s resolution settings higher than what your computer can handle it could lead to certain programs crashing more often so it may be better to leave it at its default setting unless there’s a specific need for a higher resolution setting such as viewing graphics design files that were created using high resolution photos or videos taken from professional cameras rather than those taken with smartphone cameras (see our articles about smartphones vs DSLR cameras). Drawbacks of ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 Thin and Light 2-in-1 Laptop

As with most laptops, this model has its drawbacks.

  • The noisy cooling fan is likely to bother you if you’re looking for a quiet environment.
  • The fingerprint reader is not very reliable. It might work fine for you at first, but over time it will start to be finicky about reading your fingerprint, which can be inconvenient if you’re using it to log into your laptop or make purchases online. You’ll be better off using a different login method from the get-go rather than trying to set up the fingerprint reader and then having it fail on you later when it’s too late.
  • The touchscreen is not very responsive and may frustrate people who are accustomed to faster touchscreens on other devices.
  • The screen is not very bright, so if you plan on taking advantage of this feature outside in the daytime, it won’t work well for that purpose and may cause strain on your eyes as a result of being overly dim in bright conditions.
