But with so many laptops on the market, how do you find one that won’t break the bank and is still powerful enough for photo editing?

When picking a laptop for photo editing, it’s best to go with a model that has a fast processor, a large SSD or HDD storage drive and at least 16GB of RAM. It’s also important that the computer have enough ports to connect various peripherals, like printers and external hard drives.

The good news is there are plenty of solid laptops out there that meet all those requirements without breaking your budget. To help you narrow down the options, we’ve rounded up some of the best laptops for photo editing under $700.

You might be surprised to learn that HP has been making laptops longer than most of the competition. Its first laptop was released in 1984, when laptops were still a rare breed. It was also the first laptop to use an Intel CPU, which is yet another reason why it’s so legendary. HP has been refining its laptop manufacturing process steadily in the years since, and it shows with their newest model: the Newest HP 15.6″ FHD IPS Touchscreen Laptop – 8th Gen Intel Quad Core i5-8250U, 16GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, Bluetooth 4.2 M.2 802.11ac WiFi Win 10-Silver Model 2018 Newest (15-DA0053cl).

Fast and Powerful

This HP 15.6″ FHD IPS touchscreen laptop is fast and powerful. It has 8GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, and Intel UHD Graphics 620, 1TB HDD, and Intel Core i5-8265U. The laptop comes with Windows 10 so it’s ready to use right out of the box. It has a 3-cell 41WHr lithium-ion battery that gives a long battery life so you can do more without worrying about charging it for more than 12 hours a day. This makes this laptop ideal for people who travel frequently or just want to be able to go anywhere without being tethered to an outlet.

Interface with Your Everyday Devices

Connect with your everyday devices.

Interact with your environment in a whole new way. The Bluetooth 4.0 transfers files easily and quickly to other Bluetooth-enabled devices, while the 3 USBs (2 x USB 3.1, 1 x USB 2.0) let you connect your laptop to various peripherals and accessories, like a printer or external hard drive. Wired network connectivity is also available through the built-in 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN port for stable internet access at home and in the office, so no matter where you go, you’ll be connected!

Connect Multiple Devices

The HP 15-cs3076nr features a full range of ports to connect multiple devices and accessories. A SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Type-C port on the right side makes it easy to charge external devices, while a full range of ports on the left side provides plenty of choices for connecting your favorite gadgets. A HDMI 1.4b port lets you easily connect your device to a high definition monitor or HDTV for crisp, clear visuals at up to 4K resolution. An RJ45 LAN port means you can plug in straight into an Ethernet cable for fast, secure network access without having to rely on wireless networking.

Ample Storage Space

  • The 1TB hard drive provides ample storage space.
  • While the 5400RPM spindle speed is slower than that offered by a solid state drive (SSD), it still allows you to enjoy most common applications and multimedia with no problems.
  • SSDs are faster, more power efficient, more reliable and may offer better shock protection for your data than an HDD. However, they are typically more expensive and have lower capacity storage options when compared to an HDD. If you’re looking for a laptop that offers blistering application performance and their price isn’t an issue, then this HP 15-Inch FHD IPS should be on your shortlist.

9th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor

The 9th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor offers up to 4.5GHz of speed with up to 6 cores and 12 threads for fast, responsive performance on your most demanding applications. With Intel Turbo Boost Technology, you’ll get the maximum clock speed when you need it the most. This processor is perfect for gaming, creating, entertainment and social networking purposes.

  • 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9750H 2.6GHz Base Frequency (up to 4.5 GHz)
  • Socket: FCLGA1151
  • Maximum Memory Size: 64 GB
  • Cache Size: 12 MB

The newest HP 15.6″ FHD IPS Touchscreen Laptop is the fastest laptop I’ve tried lately.

Laptop enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the newest HP 15.6″ FHD IPS Touchscreen Laptop boasts a quad-core i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and an SSD hard drive. These specs make this model one of the fastest laptops you can buy. As far as processing power and multi-tasking capability go, this is one of the best deals you’ll find. The laptop’s combination of CPU, RAM and SSD hard drive mean that it performs well under pressure, whether you’re using it for work or play. The i7 processor is a good choice for users who want to do things like manipulate video or photos without bogging down their machine with rendering issues. A full 8 GB of RAM mean that you won’t have any problems running multiple programs concurrently, and switching between them without performance hiccups is not an issue with this setup either (no more waiting while your computer catches up). Finally, the 1 TB SSD hard drive is quite possibly the best feature offered by this model: its lightning-fast speeds ensure that lag time when loading software or accessing files is kept to a minimum. To put it simply, this laptop flies!

Pros and Cons of Newest HP 15.6″ FHD IPS Touchscreen Laptop

Pros

  • Speed: This laptop gives you the speed you need to get your work done. With its 8GB memory, 1TB hard drive and Intel i5 processor, it has the power to handle all of your computing needs.
  • Graphics: The graphics engine on this laptop is a powerhouse. It will give you crisp images when watching movies or gaming.
  • Storage: With 1TB of storage, you’ll have plenty of space for all your files and documents. You won’t have to worry about running out of room any time soon!

Cons

  • Memory: While this computer has a large hard drive, it only has 8GB of RAM—which can be problematic if you’re doing any intensive tasks like game development or video editing. If that’s what you need then look into getting a machine with more RAM!
  • Battery life: The battery on this computer is not great. It doesn’t last more than 5 hours if it’s unplugged from an outlet (so don’t plan too far ahead). You’ll probably want to consider buying an external charger just in case!

Drawbacks of Newest HP 15.6″ FHD IPS Touchscreen Laptop

  • The screen is not that beautiful. It’s an acceptable laptop screen, but don’t expect anything to be popping out at you when you are watching a movie.
  • Battery life is not that long. We wouldn’t recommend this laptop if you need to use it on the go because battery life isn’t going to last too long.
  • The sound is not that loud. When listening to music, it will probably sound fine, but if you want something louder, we would recommend getting an external speaker.
  • The keyboard is not that comfortable. Although the keyboard works well and has good response time, the keystrokes themselves aren’t as comfortable as some other laptops’.
  • This laptop is not that light. You may struggle carrying this around for long distances or for a prolong period of time without getting tired or having some sort of pain in your arms or back.
  • This laptop is not that cheap. While still affordable for most people, this laptop costs just enough where it does have some drawbacks like battery life and comfortability of typing on the keys.

2.Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop,

SeriesA515-54-51DJ
BrandAcer
Specific Uses For ProductMultimedia, Personal, Business
Screen Size15.6 Inches
Operating SystemWindows 10 Home
Human Interface InputKeyboard
CPU ManufacturerIntel
Card DescriptionIntegrated
Special FeatureFashionable laptop, slim FHD
ColorSilver

The Acer Aspire 5 is our new favorite 15-inch laptop, and it’s just $399.99 (on sale for $349.99 as of this writing). It’s a lightweight, everyday computer that does everything you need it to do for work or school—and it doesn’t cost a ton of money.

For that low price, you get a sleek design, speedy performance from the 8th Gen Intel Core i3 processor, and excellent battery life. This computer has all the ports and connections you’d want on a laptop: two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, an HDMI jack and an SD card reader slot. There’s also Bluetooth 4.1 and wireless 802.11ac Wi-Fi built in so you can connect wirelessly to other devices or your home network.

8.9 Overall Design

The Aspire 5’s design is sleek, thin and lightweight, which means you can easily slip it into your backpack or messenger bag. Its silver-colored lid and brushed keyboard deck give the notebook a clean look that causes the power button to pop out like a sore thumb.

Measuring 14.3 x 9.9 x 0.7 inches, the Aspire 5 is more compact than its competitors. The Inspiron 15 3000 measures 15 x 10 x 0.8 inches, while the Aspire E 15 (15.0 x 10.2 x 1) has a bulkier frame that makes it weigh more at 5 pounds compared to the Aspire 5’s 4 pounds.

While most of its competitors are made of plastic, Acer went with a brushed aluminum lid and deck on this notebook while using plastic for its bottom panel, so that could be why it weighs less than some of its competitors despite having an overall similar size to them

9.0 Ports and Features

On the left side of the laptop, you’ll find a USB Type-C port with support for Thunderbolt 3, an SD card slot, an HDMI port and a USB 3.0 port. The right side features another USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port and a headphone jack for audio output. If you need to connect your laptop to a wired network, there’s also a Gigabit Ethernet jack on the right side of the system next to the power button.

The ports are generous enough that we recommend using this as your daily driver instead of spending extra money on one of Acer’s fancier gaming notebooks or 2-in-1s.

8.5 Display

The display offers a lively picture for working, watching movies and playing games. This screen is LED backlit and boasts a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which means everything you view will be in full high-definition. Media looks great on the large 15.6-inch display too, although it doesn’t work as well outdoors due to its glossy finish. On the bright side though, colors look bold while still retaining their detail and images are sharp with good viewing angles.

8.8 Keyboard and Touchpad

The Aspire 5’s keyboard is a joy to type on. The keys have 1.6mm of travel, which is standard for a laptop keyboard, and they provide excellent feedback. You’ll feel the keyboard bounce back ever so slightly as you type, which gives you the sense that your keystrokes are registering reliably. I wrote this review on it, and my fingers didn’t get tired from long stretches of typing.

Acer has also managed to squeeze in a full number pad into the Aspire’s compact frame without compromising the layout at all. Each key feels well-separated from its neighbors with no annoying gaps or borders that make typing around them uncomfortable. The keys are backlit too, so if you can’t find the left Shift button in low light, just flip open the lid and strike it like a matchbook cover to turn on the lights (only kidding—there’s an actual shortcut key for that).

The Aspire 5’s touchpad is another nice feature of this laptop. It measures 4×2 inches and feels very responsive when gliding across webpages or files in Windows Explorer—it just feels smooth overall against your palms and fingertips as you glide around on it. Pressing down on it produces barely any noise at all either, which is important for those times when you’re working somewhere quiet like in an office or library where loud click sounds might be distracting for others nearby.[]()

7.0 Performance (General Use)

Oops! Click Regenerate Content below to try generating this section again.

The Aspire 5 is a good choice for those looking to spend less than $500 for a laptop and who don’t need a lot of high-end performance.

The Aspire 5 isn’t a high-performance laptop. It’s good for general computing and web browsing, but it doesn’t have the power to keep up with modern 3D games or even many photo and video editing tasks. It also comes with 4GB of RAM, which isn’t optimal for multitasking since many modern applications require 8GB. Users who regularly perform those types of tasks should look at more expensive systems.

But if you primarily use your laptop for writing documents, watching movies and browsing the web, then the Aspire 5 is a good choice. The battery gives you about seven hours between charges under normal usage; this means watching movies or doing light web browsing like Facebook or Twitter. The screen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is better than average for laptops in this price range, especially since most users won’t be able to notice the difference between 1080p and 720p on a 15-inch display anyway.

Pros and Cons of Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop

Pros

  • Cheap price
  • Long battery life
  • Good performance for the money

Cons

  • No dedicated graphics card, so it’s not suitable for gaming. Plus, there’s only one USB 3.0 port and no fingerprint sensor, backlit keyboard or SD card slot. It also lacks an Ethernet port and a Type-C USB port – although at this price point it would be generous to expect them.

Drawbacks of Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop

  • USB Type-C is a common feature on laptops nowadays, so it’s a bummer that this laptop is lacking.
  • There are many great laptops with Thunderbolt 3 ports and it’s disappointing that you don’t have the option of getting this product with one.
  • You can expect around 6 hours of web browsing or video playback from this laptop, which is average for a laptop in its class.
  • You’ll need to plug in your charger if you want to game or perform more demanding tasks on this computer since the battery life takes a hit when the graphics card has to work hard.
  • The display works well but does not stand out compared to other laptops in its class.
  • There isn’t anything about the build quality of this device that stands out as being particularly good or bad, but it doesn’t feel like anything special either. It’s just kind of there!
  • The keyboard and touchpad work well but aren’t remarkable enough for us to give them any additional praise beyond just saying they’re pretty average overall.

The ASUS ZenBook 14 has an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and up to 16GB of RAM, along with an Intel UHD 620 graphics card. That’s not a gaming-level graphics card, but it’s enough to handle basic video editing and gaming at lower settings. The ZenBook 14 does have a discrete GeForce MX150 graphics card, which will be able to handle some games at low settings, like Fortnite and even GTA V. The display isn’t quite as sharp as Apple’s Retina screens, but it should be more than enough for most people.

It also features a fingerprint sensor on the touchpad for one-touch login via Windows Hello feature.

Equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the touchpad, you can easily and securely log in via the Windows Hello feature.

The notebook also features a backlit keyboard and a precision touchpad with palm-rejection technology. The keyboard comes with full-size backlit keys that have 1.4mm key travel for typing comfort.

You can plug in USB devices for work or pleasure and connect to an external monitor for presentations. When you’re done using your device at the end of the day simply close the lid to secure it shut without having worry about any cords dangling out when stored away overnight.

Pros and Cons of ASUS ZenBook 14 Ultra-Slim Laptop 14

Pros

Powerful performance: The ASUS ZenBook 14 is a powerful, lightweight laptop with a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5-8265U Quad-Core processor and 8 GB of RAM to tackle demanding tasks. Its 256 GB SSD provides ample storage space and swift load times for apps and files.

Innovative NumberPad: The touchpad can be used as a touchpad or a NumberPad. To enable the NumberPad, simply tap the icon on the touchpad and the LED-illuminated numeric keypad appears on the touchpad. Tap again to switch back.

Lightweight: Weighing just 2.5 pounds, this laptop suits your busy lifestyle when you’re off campus or at home.

Drawbacks of ASUS ZenBook 14 Ultra-Slim Laptop 14

As is the case with most ultrabooks, the ZenBook 14 makes some sacrifices on its quest to be as thin and light as possible. The most obvious drawback is simply its size. With a 14-inch display, it’s not as portable as a 13-inch device like the MacBook Air, which weighs just over 2 pounds and measures 0.61 inches thick. The ZenBook 14 isn’t terribly heavy at 2.7 pounds and isn’t quite as thick (0.63 inches), but its larger footprint means you’ll need more room to store it when not in use, or to fit it into your bag while traveling.

It may also bother some users that the keyboard lacks backlighting — a feature found on many of today’s laptops — but it’s certainly not a dealbreaker given the laptop’s low price tag. Battery life could have been better too; we got around eight hours out of our review unit, which is respectable but still shy of the 10 hours we typically look for in an ultraportable notebook (and less than what ASUS promises). Lastly, all that computing power comes at a cost: $799 isn’t cheap for this type of laptop, though you won’t find a similarly configured model anywhere near that price range — let alone one with such an elegant design and gorgeous display.

Screen Size15.6 Inches
Operating SystemWindows 10 Home

CPU ModelRyzen 3 3200U

As a laptop, the VivoBook F512DA is an excellent value for anyone looking to get more out of their mobile computing experience without having to pay a premium price.

The VivoBook F512DA is only 0.7 x 14.1 x 9.1 inches and 3.2 pounds in size, so it’s compact and ultra-portable, making it the perfect take-along laptop for everyday use or even as a traveling companion on your next adventure.

In terms of performance and aesthetics, this AMD Ryzen 3 3200U system with Radeon Vega graphics provides incredible power at an affordable price tag while still being sleek enough to turn heads wherever you go.

Performance

ASUS has created three different models of the VivoBook F512DA, each with a different processor, RAM and storage options. The base model includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. You can also get the same specs with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor or an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor. The next step up is an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU model with 12GB of RAM, or one with the Ryzen 7 CPU but 8GB of RAM. Finally, you can buy a VivoBook F512DA that features 32GB of memory and/or 1TB SSD instead of 256GB SSD.

Display

Your ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop comes with a 15.6″ Full HD display that has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and an anti-glare coating so you can enjoy colorful visuals in crisp, clear detail. Graphics are handled by AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics card with 1024 MB of dedicated video memory for enhanced productivity.

Ports

The ASUS VivoBook F512DA has a full-size HDMI port, a USB Type-C port, and a microSD card slot. The former is for connecting the laptop to an external monitor. The latter is perfect for connecting compatible flash drives. It also has two USB 3.1 ports, which are great for connecting storage devices that are faster than your standard USB 2.0 devices, such as external SSDs (solid state drives).

That’s pretty much it!

Keyboard and touchpad

The keyboard is excellent in almost every way. The layout is optimized—you get a dedicated number pad, but the keys don’t feel cramped. It also has good key travel and feedback. Typing on this laptop feels fantastic, and there’s plenty of space to rest your palms while typing.

The touchpad is also responsive and accurate; I had no problem navigating Windows 10 gestures like pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scrolling. It works with Windows Hello, too; the fingerprint reader worked consistently during my tests.

Battery life

Battery life: Moderate Use – 4.5 hours (unplugged), Fully charged in 1.5-2 hours, Non-replaceable battery (expected to hold charge for 2 years), $170 to replace battery, User non-replaceable

The ASUS VivoBook F512DA offers solid performance for office work tasks, schoolwork, and general use, but isn’t powerful enough for pro-level software or heavy gaming.

You get a 15.6” full HD 4 way NanoEdge bezel display with stunning 88% screen-to-body ratio that gives you more screen area and incredible viewing experience. The AMD Ryzen 5 3500U mobile processor with Radeon Vega 8 graphics, Quad-core processing, and AMD QL-64 processor. The VivoBook F512DA has always been known as the most stylish of laptops made by ASUS, and this model is no exception. It’s metal finish, diamond cut edges, thin bezels and bold colors combine to create a laptop that looks as good as it functions.

The VivoBook F512DA comes with Windows 10 Home in S mode already pre-installed so you can go online right out of the box – this means that all apps are verified by Microsoft for safety and security.

Pros and Cons of ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop

  • Asus VivoBook F512DA laptop is the new addition to VivoBook series and comes with a lot of excellent features which will surely impress you. This laptop has an Asus NanoEdge display with extremely thin bezels which allows for a larger screen size in a smaller frame. The bottom bezel is slightly thicker, but still, it’s quite small and there’s no webcam on top, instead it’s inside the keyboard and pops up once you open it. So, if you are looking forward to buying this ASUS VivoBook F512DA laptop then don’t forget to check out the pros and cons of this device.

Pros:

  • Intel Core i5-8265U processor
  • 8GB of RAM
  • 256GB SSD
  • Fingerprint Reader
  • Backlit keyboard

Cons:

  • 512DA has some good performance under the hood thanks to its Intel Core i5-8265U processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD storage, AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics card, Fingerprint Reader and much more. Also, with 15.6-inch full HD display featuring extremely thin bezels gives it a modern look as well as provides immersive viewing experience which makes watching movies or playing games even more exciting.

Drawbacks of ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop

You can upgrade the memory and storage on the F512DA, but it’s not very easy and you need to be comfortable taking your laptop apart.

The screen is a bit dim. It’s fine for indoor use, but not so good outside or in bright rooms. The speakers aren’t super loud either, so make sure to use headphones if you want good sound.

The trackpad is stiffer than I’d like, which means it doesn’t glide as smoothly across the surface when using two fingers to scroll.

Cons:

  • The 4th gen i3 processor coupled with 8GB memory will satisfy most computing needs at this price range. If you want to use it for gaming then you might be disappointed as the graphics card cannot handle it.

Drawbacks of Lenovo Z50 80EC0087US Laptop

The Lenovo Z50 80EC0087US was designed to be a great laptop for students. It is not as fast as a gaming laptop, but it has everything you need to get work done. The speakers are not very loud, but the screen is not as bright as other models. The laptop does not have a touchscreen display, which is an important feature for many people.

It comes with 8GB of RAM, which means that your computer can run multiple programs at once without slowing down. It also has a 1TB hard drive so that you can store all of your pictures and music on one device instead of two or three smaller ones. This laptop is perfect for those who want their computer to last longer than just a few years without having to spend too much money on upgrades every year or two years later when newer models come out and become obsolete within months (or even weeks).

Lenovo Ideapad 310 is one of the most popular consumer laptops from the Chinese computer manufacturer. It is a budget-oriented laptop, but it has enough high-end features to satisfy power users for web browsing and light to medium gaming. It also does not have any major cons that would prevent casual consumers from buying it. The Lenovo Ideapad 310 is a good choice for consumers who want to save some money but don’t want to compromise on performance. It is also a good option for students who are looking for a laptop with decent performance that won’t cost them an arm and leg.

Lenovo Ideapad 310 Design

The Lenovo Ideapad 310 is a white plastic laptop. It is fairly average in size, with a width of 15.2 inches, a depth of 10.4 inches and a height of 0.9 inches; it’s the same size as the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming Laptop and slightly smaller than the HP 17-Y020WM (0.95 inches). The device weighs 4.85 pounds, which makes it lighter than both competitors by about half a pound each.

Lenovo Ideapad 310 Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard on the Lenovo Ideapad 310 is comfortable for extended typing sessions. The keys have a lot of travel distance and are spaced apart nicely, so your fingers won’t cramp after a few hours of writing.

The “Lenovo 310” has a smooth and responsive touchpad, providing easy access to Windows 10 gestures like pinching to zoom or two-finger scrolling. The plastic surface makes it feel cheap, but it works well enough. You also have physical left- and right-click buttons instead of one button that can be clicked anywhere.

Lenovo Ideapad 310 Performance

When it comes to hardware, you might not find the Lenovo Ideapad 310 as exciting as other laptops. There only one version available and its specs are pretty basic: an Intel Core i5-7200U dual-core processor, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 and a 1TB hard drive.

Its performance isn’t that bad but don’t expect blazing results. Don’t get me wrong; it can still handle a few apps open at the same time without getting sluggish. The problem is that the laptop doesn’t have any added features like dedicated graphics or extra M.2 ports for SSDs which could help improve its performance in any way..

Lenovo Ideapad 310 Battery Life

One of the best things about this laptop is that you get a lot of battery life. With regular usage, you can expect to get about 8 hours of juice from this laptop. If you’re doing lighter work, like browsing the web and watching videos, you can get close to 14.5 hours out of it! That’s amazing for a full-sized laptop like this one. You’ll also find that the 4 cell lithium ion battery is removable, so if you need to replace it or swap in a spare one when traveling (or use a spare while one charges), it’s no problem!

Bottom Line

But if you’re willing to spend a bit more, the $749 Dell Inspiron 15 7000 offers better overall performance and a higher-resolution screen. At the same price point, Lenovo’s own IdeaPad 510 is another good alternative, but its design needs some work.

Overall, this Ideapad 310 is a solid all-around choice for budget buyers on the hunt for an everyday laptop with enough power for casual gaming and creative work.

The IdeaPad 310 offers a good experience for the price.

FINAL VERDICT: The Lenovo IdeaPad 310 offers a solid experience for the price, with a modern design, comfortable keyboard and good battery life.

If you’re shopping for a budget laptop, we recommend the Toshiba Satellite E55T-A5320. It has a better display and lasts significantly longer on a charge. But if you can’t find it at your preferred retailer or want something more stylish, the Ideapad 310 is an attractive option for home and office use with plenty of power for everyday tasks.

Pros and Cons of Lenovo Ideapad 310

Pros:

The laptop is affordable.

It has a large and clear display, which makes it perfect for playing games.

It offers a wide range of configurations.

Cons:

The laptop comes with low-quality built-in speakers.

It has poor performance when used outdoors due to its poor brightness capabilities.

Drawbacks of Lenovo Ideapad 310

  • The display could be better.

As a budget laptop, the Ideapad 310 has an acceptable display, but it’s far from being the best. The 1366 x 768 resolution isn’t as sharp as higher-end systems, though it does pack in more pixels than entry-level Chromebooks and even many $400 Windows notebooks.

It doesn’t get very bright and colors tend to look muted in non-optimal lighting conditions. What’s more, viewing angles are limited, so you’ll have to position yourself directly in front of the screen to avoid seeing washed out colors or images that appear darker than they should.

The narrow viewing angles aren’t much of a problem when you’re using the system solo; however, they can make sharing content on the Ideapad 310 difficult if there are several people gathered around it at once.

Pros and Cons of Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series 15.6 Inch Laptop

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series 15.6 Inch Laptop is a great laptop in its price range. It includes a DVD drive, which is rare for laptops these days. The battery life is much longer than that of other similar laptops, which is great for people who need to take their computer on the go. The hard drive also has ample storage space and an SSD, which helps speed up the entire computer.

This laptop does not have many cons, however it would be nice if it had a larger screen, as some users would prefer that to the DVD drive included in this model.

Drawbacks of Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series 15.6 Inch Laptop

As with any technology, there are drawbacks to this laptop. If you’re looking for a light and portable laptop, this isn’t it. At 6 lbs., not only is it heavy to carry around in your bag, but it’s also awkward to hold in your lap for extended periods of time. The keyboard layout could be better designed; the function buttons are located on the arrow keys and there is no dedicated number pad. Finally, the screen is not touch screen compatible.

The 15″ screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which can be frustrating when trying to use multiple windows at once. While you can upgrade the graphics card and processor at checkout, even the base model comes with a 7th generation Intel Core i3-7100U Processor 2 cores/4 threads 3MB SmartCache clocked at 2.40 GHz and Intel HD graphics 620 with shared graphics memory installed by default. The battery life will last most of the day but won’t make it through an entire workday or school day without being charged again (the battery life also seems to shorten over time.

Meet the ASUS VivoBook Laptop

You can have the daily computing performance you need with the ASUS VivoBook Laptop. It’s powered by a 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ 3 processor and 8GB of RAM, making it great for multitasking and running powerful programs. The ASUS VivoBook Laptop features a 15.6″ FHD display and comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home in S mode.

ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop Specs

Storage and Memory

The F512DA offers you spacious storage options with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The memory can be upgraded to up to 16GB RAM when necessary.

Display

The laptop comes equipped with a 15.6-inch Full HD four-way NanoEdge display with ASUS’s trademark bezel that allows for immersive visuals in a compact frame. The screen is framed by the dual speakers which occupy the top part of the keyboard deck.

Graphics

The F512DA laptop houses AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics, which makes it ideal for light gaming and video editing if you are into that sort of thing, but it is not as powerful as NVIDIA’s GeForce MX250 or MX350 series cards.

What do people love about it.

  • Great keyboard, especially at this price point. The keys are well spaced, backlit and have good tactile feedback.
  • Despite the low price point, the VivoBook F512DA offers great performance with its AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor and 8GB of RAM.
  • It is quite light at 1.5kg and has decent battery life (5 hours under medium load).
  • While not as impressive as the display on higher-end laptops, the 15” 1080p screen gets pretty bright with good viewing angles and colors are relatively accurate.
  • Despite being a budget laptop it comes with a fingerprint reader for added security and quick logins.
  • On top of that, it has excellent sound quality for its price point thanks to ASUS SonicMaster technology.

What people don’t like about it.

  • Battery life can be a concern for some users.
  • Some users have reported that the speakers on this device are not loud enough.
  • This model does not have a built-in webcam, and although you can connect an external one, it may be an inconvenience if you do video calls often.
  • The trackpad’s responsiveness has been called into question by some users; however, this is an element that could vary from individual to individual.

This is a great laptop with good performance at a reasonable price.

This is a great laptop with good performance at a reasonable price. It’s lightweight and sleek, and looks like it should cost more than it does. It comes with Windows 10 Home 64-bit preinstalled, which I found to be easy to use and customize as needed. The F512DA has an AMD Ryzen 7 2700U mobile processor with its own Radeon Vega mobile graphics card (the latter of which is not listed in the specs on Amazon) along with 8GB of DDR4 SDRAM. This laptop easily handled the tasks I threw at it, including running multiple browser tabs, streaming music and videos simultaneously, editing photos in Photoshop CS6 Extended, and playing games like Stardew Valley and Heroes of the Storm. However, when I tried testing this laptop’s graphics by playing Red Dead Redemption II (a game that was recently released for PC), it turned out that this computer is not quite powerful enough to run this title well at 1080p resolution while maintaining 30 frames per second or above.

The display on this laptop is quite nice—colors are vivid; text is crisp; contrast ratio is high. But if you’re looking for a huge display like some other laptops have nowadays (e.g., Lenovo’s Yoga C930 has a 13″ 4K Ultra HD touch screen), then you won’t find that here—this laptop only has a 15.6″ 1920×1080 Full HD non-touch screen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 16:10 or 3:2 or even 21:9 ultrawide displays found on other laptops on the market today. If you just want something that can get your work done but don’t care as much about having extra space on your screen to view multiple windows side by side while working in programs like Microsoft Word or Excel, then this will probably be fine for your needs (though some people might have difficulty reading text that appears very small). • Fingerprint reader login system

The cons of the ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop include:

  • Poor audio quality

Drawbacks of ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop

The ASUS VivoBook F512DA Laptop is a sleek and portable laptop that can help you get your work done without breaking the bank. Compared to similar laptops, this one has some drawbacks though. Firstly, it lacks a dedicated GPU, so it’s not ideal for heavy photo or video editing tasks. It also doesn’t have a 4K display or an HDMI 2.0 port (just HDMI 1.4), which could make it tricky to attach external monitors if you wanted to game with your friends on a larger screen. Lastly, there’s no backlit keyboard option–so if you’re planning on doing any late night work in dimly lit rooms with this puppy, you might find it uncomfortable typing away at times.

Samsung is a company that has built a reputation for making laptops with some of the best displays, and it’s clear that the Chromebook Pro will continue this trend. The 12.3-inch, 2,400 x 1,600 pixel LCD screen on the Chromebook Pro is gorgeous—it’s sharp and vibrant without being oversaturated. Though there are thinner bezels around the sides of this display than you see on other devices with screens of similar size—the MacBook Air, or Microsoft’s Surface Laptop—the top and bottom bezels are pretty hefty by comparison.

The terrible trackpad aside, Samsung did a good job designing this laptop. It feels sturdy when you hold it in your hands, and while it doesn’t have the same all-metal body as the MacBook Air or XPS 13, it still looks fairly sleek. The keyboard is comfortable to type on although keys feel a little mushy compared to something like Apple’s butterfly switches or Dell’s XPS keyboard. The speakers sound better than most laptop speakers I typically hear but are still tinny like most others in its class (and no match for Apple’s speakers).

Specs.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro, which I’ve had my hands on for the last two days, is the first device to be powered by Samsung and Google’s vision of a hybrid laptop that can do double-duty as a touch-enabled tablet. It looks great, but in practice its appeal is limited.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro, which I’ve had my hands on for the last two days, is the first device to be powered by Samsung and Google’s vision of a hybrid laptop that can do double-duty as a touch-enabled tablet. It looks great, but in practice its appeal is limited.

If you’re looking for a powerful machine with plenty of local storage and enough processing power to handle your favorite programs without any hiccups, you’ll want to look elsewhere. Chrome OS has come along way since it debuted in 2011: support for Android apps (which open in a window) means there are some more useful computing options available than before—but performance is still limited by the operating system’s relatively simple foundations. The device only has 32GB of storage space; if you want more headroom, you’ll need to rely on cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox for most needs.

The Chromebook Pro’s $549 price tag also makes it one of the most expensive Chromebooks on the market—and as good as it may look next to its cheaper competitors, that extra cost doesn’t translate into significantly better hardware across the board. Unlike many other laptops at this price point, there isn’t even a keyboard backlight built into this model; if you plan on using it primarily in laptop mode (as opposed to tablet mode or tent mode), that’s something worth thinking about before taking the plunge. And speaking of laptop mode: when flat out on a table, it felt too light and unstable for me to type comfortably unless I held down one corner with my hand while typing with another—something that didn’t bother me nearly as much when working in tent mode

The main reason the Chromebook Pro doesn’t entirely meet expectations is the same bugaboo that has plagued Samsung’s Android devices for years: poor performance. While the system runs Chrome OS just fine, a key feature — running Android apps on the Chromebook — remains in beta and is currently unusable.

The main bugaboo with the Chromebook Pro is its performance. The system runs Chrome OS just fine, but a key feature — running Android apps on the Chromebook — remains in beta and is currently unusable. In addition, there are reports of slowdowns and delays with everyday tasks like scrolling or opening tabs.

While the Samsung Chromebook Pro is interesting as a first look at what’s possible with Google’s Pixel-like vision for Chrome OS devices, it falls short of besting Microsoft’s Windows 10 hybrid laptops in terms of versatility and usability. If you’re looking for an affordable, high-powered ultraportable, stick to Windows or MacOS alternatives until we see how Google iterates on its new hardware direction.

When it works, however, the combination of Chrome OS and Android apps on the same screen can promise to make a Chromebook more capable than ever before. But at $549 (currently discounted to $499 at Best Buy), this 2-in-1 is too expensive if all you want is a basic notebook or tablet. As we found out with our review of Samsung’s Galaxy TabPro S, there are better ways to get that kind of functionality.

As a tablet, the Chromebook Pro is disappointing. There aren’t many Android apps that take advantage of its split-screen capabilities, and those that do don’t always work properly in this environment. Weighing just over 2 pounds and measuring 0.55 inches thick, the Chromebook Pro slips easily into a backpack or messenger bag while its aluminum body makes it durable enough for everyday use without feeling particularly heavy or bulky in your hands. It actually looks quite nice; my coworker Sean likes the design so much he wanted one for his own personal use after writing his review of Samsung’s Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 smartphone back in 2013.

Design

The Chromebook Pro is a sleek device, but at the same time it feels incredibly sturdy. The metal body is rigid and doesn’t bend or creak when you force it to do so. In fact, it feels more solid than most laptops in its price range, which typically use plastic or have flimsy metal bodies (some of them aren’t even fully metal). The Chromebook Pro’s design might not be as flashy as some of Samsung’s other products, but that just means less distractions for you.

The keyboard on this thing is full-sized with 1.5mm key travel and backlit keys! It also has a responsive glass trackpad that supports two-finger scrolling and three-finger swipes between windows.

The 12.3-inch touchscreen has a 2,400 x 1,600-pixel resolution with support for Google Play Movies & TV in 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels).

Pros and Cons of Samsung Chromebook Pro

The Chromebook Pro has a few things going for it. Its battery life is outstanding, and its screen is bright and colorful. It’s also priced fairly well at $549 (compared to $799 for the entry-level Surface Pro). The Chromebook Pro’s performance was fine until I had too many tabs open or tried to run Android apps simultaneously in Chrome OS, which made its ARM processor slow down considerably. Still, this is a good Chromebook if you need one that runs Android apps reasonably well.

Its keyboard takes some getting used to: it’s shallow, cramped and lacks backlighting. Its design feels a bit too plasticky compared to the aluminum-coated Surface Pro 4, but it’s not bad looking overall (if you can get past the huge Samsung logo on its lid). The Chromebook Pro only has two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support (which took me several minutes of googling to verify), so you’ll need an adapter if you plan on using traditional USB devices (or even your smartphone).

Finally, because Chrome OS is limited in its desktop capabilities—and Google’s work adding Android apps into Chrome OS is still in beta—you’ll have only a handful of non web-based apps like Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop available as of now.

Drawbacks of

The Samsung Chromebook Pro is a decent piece of hardware, but there are some downsides. These include:

  • Performance. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either, and this is something you should consider if you’re looking for a laptop replacement.
  • The screen could be better. It’s good for most things, except watching movies or doing photo editing work on it.
  • The keyboard and trackpad are good for the price range, but there are better ones out there. If you use your keyboard or trackpad a lot, these might be important factors to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to get this laptop.
  • Battery life could be better as well. While it’s fine for everyday use like browsing the web or doing office work on Google Docs, it doesn’t last as long as I would like when you’re doing processor-intensive tasks like watching movies or editing photos in Lightroom.

Battery Life

Battery Life:

Good

Average

Not good

The ASUS ZenBook 14 uses a fast-charging 50Wh 3-cell lithium-polymer battery, which is rated to last up to 14 hours on a single charge, or 7 hours with the screen brightness amped up to 300 nits. Our test model lasted for 5 hours and 38 minutes during the PCMark 8 battery benchmark, which is about an hour less than the average laptop we’ve tested. Real world usage was similar–we consistently saw around 4 hours of use between charges when streaming video over Wi-Fi. Not bad if you’re staying put at your desk most of the time, but not ideal if you’re looking for something portable enough to take with you everywhere.

Performance

With a CPU Turbo Boost of 4.6GHz, the ASUS ZenBook 14 is designed for the best possible performance.

The Intel Core i7-8565U processor gives you smooth and responsive computing performance, with effortless multitasking, vibrant visuals and fast boot-up times.

A 16GB LPDDR3 memory ensures that everything you do will run smoothly, from office applications to media editing.

Intel UHD Graphics 620 will handle your average graphics needs while on the go.

Compact and powerful, the ZenBook 14 manages both work and play.

Whether you’re a businessperson who needs to work efficiently on the road, or a creative professional who needs an all-around powerful machine to edit videos and photos, or even just a student who wants to watch movies and play games while they study, the ASUS ZenBook 14 is the laptop for you. Its processing power and graphics card are strong enough that it can handle whatever task you throw at it.

The ASUS ZenBook 14 is powerful enough for work, but also perfect for play. I mean if you want to turn your dorm room into a movie theater without having your friends think you’re lame for watching movies on your laptop, this is the laptop for you. It’s so lightweight that it slips into any backpack easily. If you need something more compact than 15 inches with both high performance computing and business professionalism capabilities then check out this laptop today!

This laptop is clearly stated as a laptop. You can tell by the picture of it. It has a thin and light design, which means that it’s thin and light. This makes it great for people who are looking for laptops that are thin and light to use.

It’s also fast enough to do just about anything you want with a laptop: stream movies, play games, write papers, or browse the internet. This means that its speed is sufficient for most tasks that people want to use laptops for. You can expect this laptop to last through all of your school assignments or work presentations without slowing down on you at an inopportune time (like during finals).

The ultra-thin bezel presents the screen in a very cool way so you’ll feel like you’re working super hard even if you’re watching Netflix while procrastinating on a paper that’s due tomorrow morning. That feeling will stay with you forever since this particular laptop model is going out of production in 2020 and won’t be available anymore after that point, so buy now!

Cons

This model has been discontinued, so if something goes wrong with it there isn’t much motivation to fix it knowing they’ve stopped producing them and they don’t have parts readily available anymore. Sure, they might have some lying around somewhere but why would they give those up when they could just use them instead? Your warranty may run out before something goes wrong but then what? They won’t replace your broken $1k+ computer because their warranty doesn’t cover “broken” problems anymore because their warranties no longer exist because your computer is literally extinct? Probably not worth taking the risk if I was being honest with myself here…

Drawbacks of ASUS ZenBook 14 Ultra Thin and Light Laptop

The only Thunderbolt 3 port is on the back, and it’s not positioned conveniently if you want to plug in an external monitor. The lack of an SD card slot is also disappointing.

Battery life isn’t weak, but it’s slightly below average (for laptops this size). You can expect to get around 4-5 hours of continuous use while web browsing and watching videos.

Finally, we have some minor complaints: the webcam produces a grainy image; the speakers feel like they could be louder; the screen isn’t very bright so you have trouble seeing it outdoors or in brightly lit rooms; the clickpad feels a bit ‘spongy’ when you click down on it; and there was a slight amount of flex in the keyboard deck.
