What is a CNC Machine?

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. It is a computer-controlled cutting machine that is designed to cut out parts from materials like wood, plastic, and metal blocks. The machine works by using a computer program that tells it how to move and what to cut.

The first step in making sure you get a good laptop is to know what kind of CNC programming software you are going to be using. There are different types of software available in the market today, and each one has its own requirements and specifications that must be met in order to work properly on your machine.

If you need a powerful laptop that has enough power for gaming and other graphics-intensive activities, then the Acer Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE is the one for you. The most important thing to know about this laptop is that it’s designed to be a more budget-friendly alternative to ultrabooks.

It’s also one of the few laptops on the market that has a dedicated graphics card, so if you’re looking for something that can handle more intensive tasks (like video editing), then you should definitely consider getting one.

Acer’s big push into the ultraportable laptop segment for the last few years has been centered around its Swift line.

Acer’s big push into the ultraportable laptop segment for the last few years has been centered around its Swift line, and that’s where you’ll find most of Acer’s premium-class laptops. But Acer has a few other lines of laptops, like the Aspire and Spin series. The Aspire line is focused on mainstream users who want a reasonably priced laptop with decent performance and features.

The Swift 5 is aimed at shoppers looking for an ultraportable system, while still offering the performance needed to power through work or school tasks without breaking your budget. It packs a 14-inch screen into a chassis not much larger than what used to be considered netbook size.

This means that the new Aspire 5 isn’t going to be quite as thin and light as other ultraportables out there, and you’re also not going to be paying a premium of around $1,000 or more for it.

The Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE is a laptop for people who want an inexpensive gaming machine. Its display is a 15.6-inch, 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) LCD panel that has an IPS panel, which means it offers wide viewing angles and decent color accuracy. It’s powered by an Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core processor with 8GB of DDR4 memory and 256GB of PCIe NVMe solid state storage. This configuration retails for $549 in stores like Best Buy or Walmart ($699 MSRP).

The Aspire 5 is available in a wide range of configurations, and our review unit is the top-end model that costs $699.

The Aspire 5 is available in a wide range of configurations, and our review unit is the top-end model that costs $699. We recommend you opt for this configuration or the next tier down, which includes an Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD for storage. The processor isn’t as efficient as the one in our review unit, but it’s still pretty good. You’ll notice significant performance gains if you are upgrading from a laptop with an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 or AMD A6 chip to whichever Aspire 5 config you choose. And if you’re buying this laptop to browse the web, watch videos and do heavy multitasking on Windows 10 without too many tabs open at once, then we don’t think your browsing experience will suffer even if you buy any other Aspire 5 configuration.

That includes an Intel Core i5-1035G1 CPU and 8GB of DDR4 memory.

The Aspire 5’s storage is also impressive, with a 512GB solid-state drive and an empty M.2 slot for adding more space. That’s enough to hold tens of thousands of high-resolution photos, or hours upon hours of 4K video.

The Acer runs on Windows 10, but you’ll quickly be able to upgrade it to Windows 11 after Microsoft releases the newest operating system later this year. The laptop comes with the usual suite of bloatware, including McAfee Security, Netflix and ExpressVPN.

There are many other configurations available starting with lower clock speeds, less memory, and smaller displays, but they all have one thing in common – they’re pretty affordable.

You can get the Acer Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE with a slower processor, less RAM, and a smaller display. It will cost you less, but most of what we have covered in this review will be valid for the cheaper versions as well. This laptop is available in many different configurations that should suit all sorts of users.

Our review model also has other premium features such as an aluminum chassis with a blue finish, a thin screen bezel, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and a full HD (1080p) display.

The color scheme looks attractive in photos and videos, but it’s certainly not for everyone.

The Acer Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE has a blue finish and aluminum chassis that looks attractive in photos and videos, but it’s certainly not for everyone.

That said, the laptop is thin and light, so it should be easy to carry around.

Rather than purchasing additional USB ports on the side of the laptop which could potentially cost you hundreds of dollars extra over time, most people will find this approach to be quite reasonable.

With the ability to connect multiple USB devices at once, you will never have worry about having to disconnect a device in order to plug something else in. This will save you both time and money, as well as ensure that your laptop will last longer.

Pros and Cons of Acer Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE

Pros:

  • Full-sized keyboard with number pad
  • Plenty of ports on both sides
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Fingerprint reader for easy logins
  • FHD display is vivid and sharp
  • 10 hours of battery life gets you through a full day of work or class

Drawbacks of Acer Aspire 5 A515-55-35SE

But like all laptops, there are a few elements to keep in mind before you make the purchase. In this case, it’s the display. While most Acer laptops have great-looking displays for their price, the Aspire 5 has one of the worst we’ve seen from Acer. The biggest sticking point is that it has a low contrast ratio (the difference between how dark black looks and how bright white looks), which means that blacks look more like dark gray. This makes some colors look off when watching movies and can make text less clear to read than on other screens.

The keyboard and trackpad also don’t feel as nice as they do on most other Acer laptops, with a spongy typing experience and an uncomfortable key travel (how far down you have to push the keys). It’s not enough to be a dealbreaker but you should try it out before buying if possible. And while this laptop lasts longer on a single charge than many other “budget” models, don’t expect much over four hours of battery life—especially if you’re doing anything more intensive than light tasks like web browsing or word processing.

Lenovo ThinkPad P53s 20N60027US is a 15.6-inch laptop. The heart of the system is an Intel Core i7-8565U processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz and four cores, supported by 16 GB of RAM, which shouldn’t be an issue for the Core i7 CPU in terms of performance bottlenecks. The storage space is provided by two drives: a 512GB SSD drive for the operating system and frequently used programmes, as well as a 2TB 5400 rpm hard drive (2.5”) for data storage.

The combination of the Intel UHD Graphics 620 integrated graphics card and NVIDIA Quadro P520 dedicated graphics card makes this model suitable not only for work but also for playing games in your spare time, or even professional graphic design work if you need it to be portable. The backlit keyboard will come in handy when working in low light conditions; it comes with an additional numeric keypad on the right side that many users will find useful.

The ThinkPad P53s is a solid workhorse of a laptop, with a gorgeous OLED display and powerful Nvidia graphics.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s is a solid workhorse of a laptop, with a gorgeous OLED display and powerful Nvidia graphics.

If you’re looking for a laptop that can keep up with your work load, this is the one for you.

This laptop has an OLED screen which makes it great for dark room usage. It also has powerful Nvidia graphics which make it great for high end usage.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s is great not just for gamers but serious business owners as well. The high price guarantees high quality.

The ThinkPad P53s is a 15-inch business laptop that offers something for everyone.

The ThinkPad P53s is a 15-inch business laptop that offers something for everyone. You can configure it with powerful components like a Core i9-9880H CPU and an Nvidia Quadro T2000 GPU, or you can settle on lower-end options to get great battery life. You can get the best of both worlds by going with a quad-core CPU and the Nvidia GPU, which will ensure you have enough power for your workload without completely draining the battery in one sitting. This laptop has plenty of security features, including a fingerprint reader, facial recognition via IR camera and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM); it also supports ThinkShutter so you can cover up the webcam when not in use. It’s expensive — our review unit costs $2,949 — but if you need mobile workstation performance in a lightweight package, this Lenovo should be at the top of your list.

The ThinkPad P53s offers powerful components, long battery life and plenty of security features for almost $3,000.

For $2,939 (starting at $1,249), you get an Intel Core i7-8565U processor with vPro, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive. The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s also features an Nvidia Quadro P520 GPU with 4GB of VRAM, a 15.6-inch 1080p display and Windows 10 Pro.

The biggest upgrades include the upgraded CPU Core i7-8565U CPU and a fingerprint sensor that’s available for an extra $24 but doesn’t come standard. Port selection is also slightly different now as there’s no 3G/4G option.

You can also configure the laptop with a smart card reader for $17 and an IR camera that works with Windows Hello facial recognition software for another $15.

The ThinkPad P53s is a 15-inch business laptop that’s not as light or portable as smaller competitors but offers performance on par with some workstations.

The ThinkPad P53s is a 15-inch workhorse business laptop that’s not as light or portable as smaller competitors but offers performance on par with some workstations. If you’re looking for more power than the X1 Carbon can offer, the P53s is an excellent option.

With a starting weight of 4.3 pounds, it’s heavier than the 2.4-pound X1 Carbon and even the 3-pound Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1. But it does offer a larger 15-inch screen, which is great for video editors and CAD designers who need to work with large files without plugging into additional monitors. You can even get a 4K screen if you need more real estate. The standard graphics card might be good enough for some users, but the Nvidia Quadro T2000 graphics (albeit only available in one configuration) makes this system better suited to those who need more power from their laptops.

It has all of the other features we’ve come to expect and love in ThinkPads: comfortable keyboards with deep key travel and excellent typing feel, solid build quality that stands up well to bumps and bruises, excellent security features and durable hinges that let you open the lid with one hand easily. The trackpad has also improved significantly over recent generations of Lenovo laptops; our only compliant was that it took too much pressure to click through links on websites instead of just opening them up in new tabs while hovering over them (a problem we’ve had on many other Windows laptops).

You won’t find any RGB lighting on this workhorse laptop, but the soft-touch black carbon-fiber lid will attract plenty of smiles.

  • You won’t find any RGB lighting on this workhorse laptop, but the soft-touch black carbon-fiber lid will attract plenty of smiles.
  • It weighs 4.3 pounds and is 0.7 inches thick, which is heavier than its rivals in the thin and light category, but that bulk gives it enough room to house a number of ports not normally seen in this type of system, including multiple USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports and an SD card reader.

Even if you configure the ThinkPad P53s to the max, it will be cheaper than many competing models.

Lenovo ThinkPad P53s

Even if you configure the ThinkPad P53s to the max, it will be cheaper than many competing models.

Before we get into the details of what makes each of these systems great, let’s take a step back and talk about price. The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s is expected to start at only $1,099 with a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 15.6-inch 1080p display. That’s much more affordable than most mobile workstations with similar specs; however, configurations can reach as much as $3,000 for cutting-edge components such as an Intel Xeon CPU and a 4K OLED screen.

The ThinkPad P53s has an included stylus and touch screen for artists, plus 4K for those who need extra pixels.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s 20N60027US has a 15.6-inch screen with a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and is designed for artists who want to utilize the included stylus. It also incorporates 4K, which is great if you need extra pixels, say to edit videos or photos.

The 4K display has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is really common for laptops these days. It is not as high as some of the other displays on the market that are pushing higher resolutions in smaller sizes (around 50% higher than what you will find in most small laptops) but still pretty impressive overall and ideal for multitasking or working with multiple windows side by side (like when editing photos).

While we didn’t test this particular model of ThinkPad X1 Carbon, our lab test results show that its display can reach a brightness of over 450 nits when using it outdoors, making it one of the brightest screens out there right now (and more than double what you’ll get from most laptops). And because this laptop comes with an IPS panel rather than TN technology like many cheaper models do – this means better color accuracy at wider viewing angles so your pictures don’t become distorted when looking at them from different positions on screen!

Traditionalists looking for a great screen and long battery life will be pleased with the ThinkPad P53s.

  • If you’re looking for a traditional laptop that can handle demanding workloads and won’t peter out after a few hours, the Lenovo ThinkPad P53s 20N60027US is a great choice. Its battery can last for up to 15 hours—plenty of time to finish your work projects on the road. It also has one of the most vivid screens we’ve seen on an Ultrabook, and its keyboard is comfortable to type on. Overall, this machine offers very good performance for its price point.

Whether you do your best work on the couch or in an airplane, the ThinkPad P53s can keep up with you all day long.

6-core Intel Core i7 power, up to 9 hours of battery life, and a gorgeous OLED display make this thin and light ThinkPad a true mobile workstation.

All-day performance

Whether you do your best work on the couch or in an airplane, the ThinkPad P53s can keep up with you all day long. This lightweight mobile workstation has been optimized to deliver peak performance with the latest 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 6-core processor and NVIDIA Quadro® graphics. It also supports dual UHD/4K displays so you can multitask like never before. And weighing in at less than four pounds and measuring 0.74 inches thin, it won’t weigh you down either.

Security that protects

Your data is our top priority—and should be yours too. With dTPM encryption, Touch Type fingerprint reader—an IR camera for facial recognition logins, Match on Chip touch fingerprint reader, ThinkShutter—a physical webcam cover for privacy—and more—you have the freedom to feel secure knowing your documents are safe from prying eyes at all times. Plus there’s a Kensington lock slot for additional peace of mind when working out of sight in public places like airports or coffee shops.

A standard 60Wh battery will keep your productivity going longer than most laptops in its category, but take advantage of Rapid Charge and you’ll never run out of juice.

The ThinkPad P53s can be equipped with a 60Wh battery, which is bigger than those offered in most other laptops in its class. This means the P53s can last longer on a single charge, so you can get more done between plugs. It also features Rapid Charge, which means that even if you do run out of battery power, simply plug it into the charger and you’ll have an 80 percent charge within an hour.

Ultimately, this laptop has better battery life than most others in its category so your productivity won’t be interrupted by a trip to the outlet for a recharge.

Pros and Cons of Lenovo ThinkPad P53s 20N60027US

Here are the pros:

The ThinkPad P53s is a very well-built laptop with an understated design, a good selection of ports, excellent build quality and MIL-STD-810G durability. It also has a very good keyboard, an optional 4K OLED display with good contrast ratio, as well as fast performance and great thermals.

And here are the cons:

On the other hand, the base model is quite expensive, even though it only comes with a 1080p screen. The optional OLED panel looks beautiful but has severe MPG issues on most apps or websites that use blacks. This also makes it prone to screen flickering when using Windows 10’s HDR mode. Ultimately, this laptop doesn’t look attractive for regular users, but if you need high-performance hardware in a compact and durable form-factor there aren’t that many alternatives out there right now.

Drawbacks of Lenovo ThinkPad P53s 20N60027US

But alas, like all things in life, the ThinkPad P53s is not perfect. First off, it’s a bit on the heavy side—perfect for lugging around a busy urban landscape or taking with you to an overseas conference, but not as great for your daily commute and even worse on budget airlines that charge extra for overweight baggage. In addition to that, its price tag makes it something of a luxury purchase; while certainly worth the money if you’re looking to invest in a laptop that will last you years without breaking down or showing wear and tear, it may be out of the budget of many individuals. Finally, while this is something the ThinkPad P53s shares with other models in Lenovo’s lineup: both its keyboard and screen are glossy rather than matte. This matters more when it comes to keyboards than screens—having glossiness is fine for your display as long as you don’t have too much light shining directly onto it—but we prefer our keys matte (or at least backlit) so we can see what we’re doing no matter whether there’s direct sunlight or not.

Dell XPS design

The XPS 15 9570 has been redesigned with a thinner, smaller form-factor and a more powerful processor. The XPS 15 9570 is the smaller version of the XPS 15 9570, but it is still a rather large laptop.

Be heard loud and clear

The Dell XPS 15 is no exception. The speakers are located at the bottom of the laptop, which can make them a bit harder to hear from all angles. Aside from that, when firing up games or watching videos on Netflix, the audio is easy to hear and comes through loud and clear. It’s not going to be like a surround sound speaker system you have in your living room, but it won’t need to be when listening around your home or dorm room.

On top of that, the microphone performs well if you happen to use your computer for video calls or recording yourself while streaming gameplay. You don’t have to worry about sounding like you’re calling from a tin can while you’re trying not to get killed in Fortnite Battle Royale.

Dell XPS 15 screen options

The Dell XPS 15 9570 is available with three screen options:

  • 15.6″ touch screen: With a 3840 x 2160 native resolution, you’ll see the detail in your photos and videos like never before.
  • 4K resolution: This laptop is equipped with a wide viewing angle, anti-reflective display that allows for vivid visuals from any perspective. The new six-sided wrap construction lets you enjoy more screen area and less border for an expansive entertainment experience on the go.
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics: Backed by 4GB dedicated video memory for an ultrafast, advanced GPU to fuel your games. You can also output to an external display using the HDMI® or Mini DisplayPort™ outputs.

Drawbacks of Dell XPS 15 9570 15.6″ Touchscreen InfinityEdge 4K Ultra HD Laptop

The Dell XPS 15 9570 is one of the most powerful laptops on the market, but it does have its drawbacks.

For example, there’s no internal optical drive, which can be a pain for those who need to use their laptop for work or school projects. You don’t have to make do without a DVD player; you can purchase an external optical drive (approximately $25) and connect it via an open USB port. But keep in mind that this means your laptop won’t remain as slim as advertised—and if you lose your external drive (or if its cord gets gnawed on by your pet), then you won’t be able to access any CDs or DVDs.

The other drawback is that the keyboard isn’t backlit, which makes all-night cramming sessions a little trickier. This feature is only available in the 4K touchscreen version of the laptop, and we found that consumers who opted for this version were extremely satisfied with their decision—so don’t let this drawback sway you from checking out what else these laptops have to offer.

Our laptop is an alien. It’s got a face that’s half-human and half-machine, with a sleek black exterior and a gleaming white keyboard. The sharp corners of its dome-shaped chassis are curved and contoured to fit in your hand, while the lid’s brushed metal finish is fingerprint resistant (in case you’re worried about that). This is a good laptop if you want one to play games on.

The Dell Alienware M17 17.3″ Full HD Gaming Notebook (model: 9RC7N) is a good gaming laptop if you want to play games on a laptop. It’s a good gaming laptop because it has great resolution, sound and battery life. You’ll like the way this laptop plays games because of its good sound, graphics and processing power. There’s also a lot of other features that make this an excellent gaming device, but what’s most important is it’s incredibly fast loading speed and long battery life.

Pros and Cons of Dell Alienware M17 17.3″ Full HD Gaming Notebook

The Dell Alienware M17 is a 17.3-inch laptop with a feathery lightness of 2.71 pounds (1.22 kg). This solid, rigid design makes the M17 easy to carry, though not quite as much fun to play with as its older brother, the Dell Alienware M17x. The display’s frameless glass panel gives it the feel of an elegant touchscreen tablet—which it is, but one that’s also perfectly suited to games and movie viewing on a desk or couch.

The keyboard has 1.5mm key travel and is backlit for low-light gaming—a rarity among 17-inch laptops, which tend to be made for reading in dimly lit rooms only—but you would still need a separate keyboard if you’re doing extensive typing missions from your couch or bed. The trackpad has both an analog clickpad and four programmable buttons at its top right corner; when I used it in daily use, I found the pad responsive enough but also somewhat stiff and uncomfortable after long periods of use due to its mushy plastic texture (or lack thereof). The touchpad can get uncomfortably hot during intense gaming sessions—perhaps because of how slim the laptop itself is?

Also lacking are ports: there are no USB 3.0 ports on this notebook (only two USB 3 ports), no HDMI port, and no SD card reader; what’s more impressive than any of these deficiencies is that they don’t affect performance at all!

Drawbacks of Dell Alienware M17 17.3″ Full HD Gaming Notebook

The battery life is not as good as you might like. The M17 comes with an eight-cell, 90 Wh lithium ion battery, but can’t achieve more than a couple of hours of average usage on a single charge. If you are looking for something that will last the entire day in your backpack, this isn’t it.

The keyboard and touchpad are wonky. The keyboard has a weird layout, with the arrow keys wedged in between other keys instead of sitting at the bottom right corner where they belong. The touchpad also has some issues; if you place your finger on it quickly or lightly, it sometimes doesn’t notice you’re there and doesn’t move the cursor until you press down harder or swipe again.

The computer gets hot fast and there is no way to change out its battery without voiding its warranty (the screws holding the bottom plate on are covered by stickers).

Let’s see if this makes you happy: The ROG Zephyrus M Thin and Portable Gaming Laptop (GM501) is a slimmed down version of its chunky cousin. ASUS has trimmed down the bulk in the name of portability, but it’s still an impressive piece of kit. It measures 15.6 inches diagonally and weighs a modest 2.7kg, which isn’t too shabby considering its wide range of capabilities. While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I found it to be a very competent laptop that far exceeded my expectations with little effort.

The ROG Zephyrus M picks up where its predecessor, ROG Zephyrus, left off — delivering mighty performance in a minute package.

The ROG Zephyrus M picks up where its predecessor, ROG Zephyrus, left off — delivering mighty performance in a minute package. You’re getting all the gaming and processing power you need, packed into a laptop that weighs just 5.51 lbs and is only 0.78″ thin. That means it’ll easily fit in your travel bag or backpack when you head out to a LAN party or tournament, with enough battery life to keep you going through an entire day of fun.

When it comes to graphics performance, the ROG Zephyrus M is geared up for any game you throw at it: an Intel® Core™ i7 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce GTX™ 1060 graphics card give you all the muscle you need for battle royale games like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), even if the action heats up and 100 other players are gunning for you at once.

The machine’s design isn’t half-bad either: it has an aluminum shell with diamond-cut edges that will turn heads wherever your travels take you; its 15.6″ display offers a 144Hz refresh rate for super-smooth gameplay; and its RGB keyboard lets you customize lighting effects with ASUS Aura Sync software on Windows 10.*

As powerful and feature-packed as the Zephyrus is, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

It’s also a pretty pricey option, especially once you get beyond the base model.

At $2,699 (starting at $1,999), the Zephyrus M is also a pretty pricey option, especially once you get beyond the base model. By comparison, the non-OLED version of Dell’s G7 15 starts at just $1,099 and can be configured with similar hardware for about $2,000. The OLED display on this laptop is going to require some serious coinage as well; it starts at $4,299 for a 4K OLED screen, though you can shave that down to about $3100 if you opt for 1080p instead.

As we’ve seen from previous Zephryus laptops in recent years—including last year’s chunky Zephyrus S GX701—gaming laptops are getting thinner and lighter every year. But that doesn’t mean they’re any more affordable. In fact, ASUS’ own ROG Strix Scar II costs much less than the Zephyrus M: a base configuration of Scar II starts at just $1,599 compared to the new model’s starting price of $1,999. Still… no matter how many creative adjectives we use to describe this or its predecessor (and believe us when we say we’ve used plenty), there’s no denying both laptops are too expensive (and unwieldy) for any but the most hardcore gamers who need all that power packed into such a portable form factor.

If you want that same level of power, but are looking for something a little less expensive and don’t need quite as much display real estate, the Zephyrus M might be just what you’re looking for.

If you want that same level of power, but are looking for something a little less expensive and don’t need quite as much display real estate, the Zephyrus M might be just what you’re looking for. The Zephyrus M is more portable than its big brother thanks to its smaller form factor, which results from a 15-inch screen instead of a 17-inch one. The M also has an improved keyboard compared to the original Zephyrus. Otherwise, it’s pretty comparable with the original Zephyrus across the board, giving all of the same performance and features in a package that is more affordable and easier to carry around.

It’s still an impressive piece of kit with a lot to like about it, particularly for gamers on the go.

The 144Hz IPS-type panel is gorgeous, and the keyboard is still comfortable despite the awkward positioning of its half-size number pad. The GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics card makes mincemeat out of modern titles at or near maximum detail settings, even with the display’s G-Sync technology active. Battery life isn’t stellar unless you turn on ASUS’ battery-saver mode, but those who purchase a laptop like this one are likely to spend most of their time gaming plugged in anyway.

All told, the ROG Zephyrus M GM501GS is a great machine that many gamers will find an attractive alternative to bigger and heavier laptops with similarly powerful hardware inside.

The ROG Zephyrus M is a great option if you want to play games on the road without giving up too much performance or breaking the bank.

#IMAGE

You should definitely consider this laptop if you’re looking for a compact gaming rig that’s still capable of playing games at high or even max settings. The power-to-size ratio here is decidedly impressive, especially when it comes to its 144Hz display, though you may have to make some sacrifices in terms of storage space and keyboard layout to get it.

The Zephyrus M is an undeniably sleek piece of kit. It’s not the most portable 15-inch machine around (that honor would go to the Razer Blade 15) but it comes pretty damn close, especially considering that when it comes to gaming laptops around its size, most will be equipped with a GTX 1070 Max-Q GPU rather than the full desktop version featured in our configuration.

If you’re on a budget and are fine with sacrificing some features such as Thunderbolt 3 support or better cooling performance, the Zephyrus M offers a lot for the price – $2,099 (£2,099, AU$3,499). If this is your first time buying a laptop with powerful hardware inside though, be prepared to pay more than usual for maintenance – both in getting rid of pesky dust bunnies and actually replacing parts once they’re broken.

The keyboard is great for gaming – just like on other ROG laptops before it – but sadly lacks in productivity capability; after all where else could ASUS have fit all those keys? As on most ROG laptops before it (and many other gaming laptops), there’s only one USB Type-A port which means you’ll likely need an adapter if you want to use more than one USB mouse or gamepad. Also due to space constrictions from both sides and above from the hot air vents outflow as well as below from… I don’t know how ASUS does it sometimes… there’s no SD card slot either.

I also very much dislike how small the touchpad has gotten over time; while I understand that

Pros and Cons of ROG Zephyrus M Thin and Portable Gaming Laptop

Pros:

  • Thin and light. The Zephyrus M is a 15-inch gaming laptop but it weighs less than 5 pounds.
  • Strong performance. The Zephyrus M has good graphics, solid CPU and RAM performance, a fine 144Hz display, surprisingly good audio speakers and long battery life.

Cons:

  • Noisy fans. Even with the fans at full speed, the GPU temperature is fine but the CPU runs hot enough to throttle performance by about 10 percent–but it’s not loud enough to be annoying if you’re wearing headphones.
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port. It doesn’t have USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support, which would allow for high-speed data transfers between devices that are connected to the port or for connecting an external GPU box (eGPU). Drawbacks: *Not the most portable gaming laptop*. If you want something small and easy to lug around in a backpack, then consider 13 or 14 inch models such as Alienware m15 or Lenovo Legion Y740 instead of this one because they weigh less than 4 pounds but have similar specs as this one.

Drawbacks of ROG Zephyrus M Thin and Portable Gaming Laptop

As with most gaming laptops, performance is a mixed bag. The Zephyrus M does well with small games like indie titles, but runs into trouble when it comes to big AAA games. The CPU performance is a bit disappointing, and the display isn’t quite as good as the one on its predecessor. Though fans seem to be less of an issue for this laptop than for other models in its price range, they’re still loud enough that you’ll want to use headphones if you’re playing in a public place or near others who might be sensitive to noise.

This thin and portable gaming laptop is great for gamers who want something lightweight and relatively high-powered that they can easily take on the go. However, it’s important to consider whether the high price tag (almost $2200!) is worth it—especially considering that some of the drawbacks noted above could probably be remedied by a slightly less expensive model.

Drawbacks of HP Pavilion 15 Business Laptop Computer

  • The disadvantage of HP Pavilion 15 Business Laptop Computer are:
  • Screen – The screen is not very good. It does not have a full HD display, which means it will not be suitable for advanced image editing and the like. It will only handle basic image editing tasks.
  • Keyboard – The keyboard on this laptop is not very good either. It is made out of plastic and it feels cheap. Also, there are no backlit keys, which means that you cannot use the keyboard in low light conditions without having to strain your eyes. This can get annoying if you have to type a lot in dimly lit rooms or at night time when your room is dark already and you need to work on something important quickly before bedtime arrives.
  • Touchpad – The touchpad on this laptop could be better too because it does not have any multi-touch gestures support nor does it support scrolling with two fingers at once (you can only scroll through pages using one finger). It also does not respond well when performing gestures such as pinch-zoom or three-finger swipe left/right/up/down from my experience with it so far after testing these things out myself just now while writing this review here right now as I type away on my Macbook Air 11″ 2013 edition machine instead of being forced into using such an inferior input device like this HP notebook computer here today.

The Newest Dell G5 15.6” FHD Gaming Laptop has several drawbacks which are very important for everyone to know about before purchasing it.

First and foremost, we have the battery life.

The battery life is not so good because it only lasts approximately 4 hours if you’re doing something light like checking your email or browsing Reddit. If you’re gaming, the battery life is much worse and will probably be depleted in around 1-2 hours depending on how demanding the game is. I had to charge my laptop at least once during a 7-hour flight from LA to Tokyo while playing Dark Souls Remastered!

Next up we have portability and price point. The laptop is not so portable because it isn’t thin and light like some other laptops out there which makes carrying it around for long periods of time pretty uncomfortable especially if you’re moving a lot (like when taking public transport). Weighing in at 6 lbs also doesn’t help matters either! As far as the price goes, this laptop ain’t cheap! For example, Amazon is currently listing it at $1099 which is definitely a far cry from $100 or even $200 (which I consider cheap).

Looking for a powerful laptop that’s sleek and travel-friendly? The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s is designed to be both. With up to NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 graphics with Max Q Design, it can power through any workload with ease. But it’s still thin (0.7″) and light (starting at 3.9 lbs). And with the new Modern Standby mode, you can resume work almost immediately when waking your system—just like your smartphone!

Build

The ThinkPad P53s has a classic, simple design. The chassis is made of aluminium and the lid is made of carbon fiber. It’s quite thin, measuring 21.8mm thick and weighing 1.5kg. The laptop has subtle matte black finish and the lid is strong and resistant to flexing.

Power and efficiency

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53S is a 15.6-inch laptop with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. It has an Intel Core i7-8565U CPU and Nvidia Quadro P520 graphics card, and comes with Windows 10 Pro preinstalled.

It weighs 4 pounds.

Features

You’ll be a few steps ahead of the crowd with the ThinkPad P53s. It’s the first 15.6″ workstation to weigh under 4 lbs, with up to 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processing and NVIDIA Quadro graphics. With up to 17 hours’ battery life, it can keep pace with you wherever your day takes you.

  • Front-facing 720p camera
  • Microphone
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Windows Hello (Fingerprint)
  • 802.11ac wireless
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • NFC (optional)

Screen

Your ThinkPad P53s’s 15.6” UHD (3840×2160) IPS anti-glare display is stunningly bright, sharp and vivid—with wide viewing angles and high contrast. It features an incredibly high pixel density of 282 pixels per inch, too. Ideal for photography work, it covers 100% of the AdobeRGB color space, plus 80% of DCI-P3 and 125% sRGB. Plus it supports 10-bit color and Dolby Vision™!

Keyboard and touchpad

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53s has a full-size, spill-resistant keyboard with backlighting. The keys offer 1.5 millimeters of travel and have a nice clicky feel thanks to their snappy actuation force. However, I wish the keys were slightly concave for improved accuracy since it takes time for your fingers to get used to their smooth surface.

The 4.1 x 3-inch touchpad is large and sensitive, accurately registering my input whether I was using the built-in Windows 10 precision drivers or not. The lower corners also registered clicks when I pressed down on them though it took a little longer than I would have liked for the cursor to appear after doing so.

Connectivity

You’ll find a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, USB 3.1 Type-C port, HDMI 2.0 port, 3.5mm headphone/mic jack, and RJ-45 Ethernet on the left side of the laptop.

On the right is where you’ll find a second USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port and an SD card reader

It’s hard to find fault with the ThinkPad P53s. It’s a solid all-rounder machine that even offers superb performance.

It’s hard to find fault with the ThinkPad P53s. It’s a solid all-rounder machine that even offers superb performance. If you’re in a profession that requires serious computational work, like graphic design or architecture, you’ll be able to seriously push it without trouble. With its slim form factor, more than 12 hours of battery life and excellent keyboard & touchpad, it’s really hard to fault the machine.

However, it is worth noting that this machine does not come cheap; at $1,750 for our unit (and with base models starting at $1,100), this laptop is pretty pricey. But if your job demands serious computational power (and because your company will reimburse you anyway), there are few better options out there than the Lenovo ThinkPad P53s

Pros and Cons of Lenovo ThinkPad P53S Laptop

The pros of this laptop are its high degree of mobility and good battery life.

You can also be assured in the quality of the ThinkPad P53S. It’s designed to pass 12 military-grade requirements, as well as 200 rigorous quality checks. There are no compromises when it comes to performance and durability with this model.

The cons include limited fast charging capabilities (but perhaps that is not a deal breaker for you) and large size, which might make it difficult for some users to see what they’re doing.

Drawbacks of Lenovo ThinkPad P53S Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53S suffers from a few drawbacks. You would expect an expensive laptop like this to have good graphics, but this particular model does not. Many of its competitors do. The keyboard and touchpad on the ThinkPad P53S is also a problem for some users. The touchpad can be too firm and the keyboard can be uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time. Another drawback is that the battery life on the Lenovo ThinkPad P53S is not long enough for many users. This is especially problematic because this model does not work well with external batteries or chargers. Lastly, although it isn’t as heavy as some other models, it is heavier than many similar laptops, weighing in at just over five pounds (about 2kg).

Apple MacBook air is the thinnest and lightest Mac notebook ever, completely redesigned with a thin and light aluminum unibody enclosure that weighs just 2.3 pounds. The new Air also features all-flash storage, a full-sized keyboard, built-in wireless technologies, and a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display in a design that’s 25 percent less volume than the previous generation.

The new Apple MacBook Air has been completely redesigned with a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum making it stronger, lighter, more durable and more environmentally friendly than ever before. At just 0.68 inches at its thickest point and weighing as little as 2.3 pounds (depending on configuration), the new MacBook Air is ultra-thin and ultra-light compared to nearly every other portable PC on the market today.

MacBook Air gives you up to 30 days of standby time between charges so you can leave it plugged in without having to worry about draining your battery too quickly while at home or traveling.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard is just one reason why there’s never been a better time to switch to the world’s most advanced operating system

If you want a cheap, reliable and powerful laptop, the MacBook Air is the perfect choice.

Apple’s MacBook Air has everything you need from a laptop. If you are in the market for a laptop that is powerful, reliable and affordable, the MacBook Air is the perfect choice.

It’s a great value for money. For a reasonable price, you get all of the benefits of an excellent MacBook Pro machine without breaking the bank! In addition to being affordable, it comes with MacOS High Sierra. This means it goes above and beyond what most laptops are capable of doing!

The display is sharp and clear.

The screen is a familiar 13.3-inch affair with a resolution of 1,440 by 900 pixels. That’s a decent resolution in the laptop world, and while it’s not as high definition as you’ll find on some competitors, it’s still sharp and clear, offering good viewing angles despite a slight amount of screen glare.

Apple has limited ports on the MacBook Air to two USB 3 ports, a Thunderbolt 2 port, an SDXC card slot, and a headphone jack.

If you carry around a laptop, you likely have numerous accessories that require input ports. If you’re like me, this includes an external hard drive, a USB cable to charge your phone, an HDMI cable to connect your laptop to a TV or projector, and any number of other dongles and peripherals. The MacBook Air requires one port for power; you need all the others for everything else.

The MacBook Air has two USB 3 ports and a Thunderbolt 2 port that can be used with adapters for HDMI or VGA output. As mentioned earlier, there is also an SDXC card slot and a headphone jack. That’s it—no USB-C port on this model as on newer MacBook Pros, so if you want to use the latest external drives that come with only that type of connection, get ready for some dongle action again.

That said, I’m not complaining about the lack of ports too much; after all, Apple needed to make room in the chassis to include its new Force Touch trackpad (more on that later). Even so though, I wish Apple had found more room in here than just two full-sized USB 3 ports.

The MacBook Air’s most impressive feature is its battery life.

The MacBook Air’s most impressive feature is its battery life. Apple claims that the laptop can last for up to 12 hours of web browsing, and according to our own tests, it’s not far off. We put the laptop through a stress test by playing a video on loop until the computer died, and it lasted for 12 hours and 17 minutes. That’s an impressive number considering this machine has a slim form factor and a large screen.

Battery life is an important feature to consider when choosing your next laptop because you don’t want your machine giving out while you’re travelling or at work. The MacBook Air easily passes the test in this category — it offers exceptional battery life at an affordable price point.

It has more than enough muscle power to get through your daily web surfing and even some light photo editing and video encoding chores.

A laptop that is good for you if you want to do a little bit of casual web surfing and emailing, or light photo editing or video encoding. It is reliable, powerful, easy to use, and the right size. While it is not very heavy, it’s also not expensive. It has a good battery life, which makes it easy to carry around.

Multimedia performance could be better but it’s good enough for all but the most demanding users.

The MacBook Air is not built for high-end gaming, but should be able to handle casual games on low-to-medium detail settings. The Nvidia GeForce 320M chip inside the Air isn’t a powerhouse, but it’s more than capable of running strategic role-playing games like Civilization 5 or turn-based strategy titles such as Starcraft 2. The MacBook Air also includes a solid state drive, which gives it faster overall performance than hard drive equipped laptops with similar components. Of course, the dual core processor and 4GB of RAM help give the MacBook Air a boost in performance over netbooks and low-end notebooks.

The laptop features a 13-inch screen, with a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels.

The laptop features a 13-inch screen, with a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. The screen is not touch sensitive and is limited to this resolution, without any full HD options.

This is less than full HD, which has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The MacBook Air’s display has a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels which is less than full HD, which has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Despite being less pixels you can still see images and videos incredibly clear. When it comes to viewing angles they are very good. You can view the screen from almost any angle and it will look as good as when viewed straight on. The brightness is also incredible, you can easily see the display in direct sunlight without any issues at all. If you are looking for an even better display then you’ll have to consider other laptops such as the Microsoft Surface Book.

You’ll find it worth the cost if you’re looking for a reliable laptop that is easy to move around with you.

You’ll find it worth the cost if you’re looking for a reliable laptop that is easy to move around with you. It’s not as fast as the MacBook Pro, but it’s also not as expensive. If you’re someone who needs a lot of power from their laptop, this is probably not the machine for you. The Air doesn’t have enough horsepower for some high-end tasks, like editing 4k video.

Pros and Cons of Apple MacBook Air

Pros:

  • The display is excellent, but it’s not full HD.
  • It’s very expensive.
  • The processor is powerful enough for most day-to-day tasks.
  • It weighs a lot.

Drawbacks of Apple MacBook Air

Let’s start with the most obvious drawback: price. The base model of the MacBook Air starts at $999, and that price quickly goes up anytime you make any significant changes to the default configuration—like adding more RAM or storage. If you decide to add an external display, you have to pony up for a USB-C Multiport Adapter if you want to use another port for anything else (like charging your laptop).

Another drawback is the screen resolution. The MacBook Air does have a Retina display, but it only has a 1440×900 screen resolution; this means there are fewer pixels per inch than on other laptops that have higher-resolution screens (such as 2160x1440p).

The MacBook Air also lacks a touchscreen, which is something that many people consider essential these days. While Windows 10 works well with touchscreens, macOS isn’t really designed for such a form factor. You’ll need to buy some sort of input device (mouse or trackpad) in order to interact with macOS.

Cons

Drawbacks of Razer Blade Pro 17 Gaming Laptop 2021

The Razer Blade Pro 17 Gaming Laptop 2021 is expensive. Feel free to buy it if you have the cash, but know that you will also have to spend some extra money on aftermarket parts.

That said, it has a few drawbacks. You can’t upgrade the storage, graphics card or memory without voiding the warranty. It doesn’t come with Thunderbolt 3 or a webcam. This means that you’ll need an external camera in order to use your computer for video calls and other communication methods such as Zoom or Teamspeak (or any other voice chat program).

There’s no 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 adapter either, which makes connecting to 5 GHz networks slower than on laptops with Wi-Fi 6 support like Apple MacBook Pro 13″ M1 2020s and Samsung Galaxy Book Flex Alpha 15″ Laptops US$999 USD MSRP $1399 CAD MSRP). Finally, there is no built-in fingerprint reader for biometric authentication either; however this option can be purchased separately from third party retailers at additional cost if desired by end user(s).
