The Ikan DS2-A Beholder Angled 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer with Encoders for DSLR & M*** is a heavy piece of equipment. It weighs 10 pounds without batteries and is not portable, so you’ll need to set it up on your tripod or mount before you can use it. 3.DJI Ronin-S – Camera Stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal

ColorBlack
BrandDJI
Compatible DevicesDJI Ronin-S
Item Dimensions LxWxH7.28 x 7.95 x 19.13 inches
Item Weight1850 Grams
Maximum Weight Recommendation8 Pounds

The DJI Ronin-S is a handheld stabilized gimbal designed for DSLR, mirrorless and small camera setups up to 8 lbs/3.6 kg. It features three different operating modes: Follow Mode, Lock Mode, and Panorama Mode. In Follow Mode, the Ronin-S will automatically rotate in the direction you are moving your hand or panning the camera to keep your footage stable as you move through space; this mode is ideal if you’re using a GoPro or similar action cam that doesn’t have its own built-in stabilizer like Sony’s FDR-X3000R or Panasonic’s Lumix GH5S. In Lock Mode the gimbal holds its position regardless of how much force is applied while filming; this makes it great for heavier cameras like DSLRs which can sometimes cause problems with lighter models due to their weight distribution being off balance with heavier lenses attached (i.e., telephoto lens). Lastly there’s Panorama mode where users can pan from left to right across landscape scenes without worrying about getting any jerks in motion because everything else has been locked into place!

The DJI Ronin-S also comes with four types of feet (three rubber feet plus one tripod mount) so that users can attach it directly onto tripods or other supports from manufacturers such as Manfrotto™ & Induro™

Pro features for camera control

The Ronin-S has a built-in display that allows you to view your camera’s settings in real time, so you can adjust them at any time.

In addition to its 3-axis gimbal, which keeps your shots stable and smooth, the Ronin-S boasts a built in IMU system that senses how much force is being applied to it by the operator. This allows it to automatically adjust its settings based on how much force is being used. You can also disable this feature if you don’t want the gimbal making adjustments on its own.

SmoothTrack Control

The DJI Ronin-S is equipped with SmoothTrack, a technology that allows you to control the gimbal in any direction you want with one hand. You can move the gimbal up and down, left and right. This enables you to get creative with your shots without having to look at the screen on your phone or tablet.

To use this function:

  • Press “Normal Mode” on the grip of your Ronin-S and select “Smooth Track”
  • Use your left thumbstick/joystick as normal

Robust design

The Ronin-S features 4 axis of stabilization, allowing you to capture smooth footage in even the most difficult conditions. With a maximum payload of 11 pounds (5kg), it can handle everything from lightweight mirrorless cameras to heavier cinema cameras and rigs. The Ronin-S comes with two handles (1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16), an intuitive control system, durable construction, and a universal mounting bracket that allows it to attach to any tripod or accessory that has 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads.

The wheeled hand grip is made from precision machined aluminum so you can comfortably hold your camera without worrying about dropping it due to weight distribution issues. The handles are strong enough for professional use but ergonomically designed so they’re comfortable enough for long shoots too! You also get four axis locks (top, bottom left&right) that make transporting easier while still keeping everything secure as well as providing excellent stabilization during operation.

Advanced stabilization algorithm

You are probably wondering what a stabilization algorithm is. A stabilization algorithm is an automatic process that compensates for unwanted camera movement. These algorithms help to keep footage from looking jittery, shaky and unsteady.

The DJI Ronin-S has a 3-axis stabilization system which means it can correct for yaw, pitch and roll movement all at the same time! It’s basically like having three arms holding your camera steady in any direction you want to go with little effort on your part.

pro and cons of DJI Ronin-S – Camera Stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal Handheld

Pros:

  • The DJI Ronin-S – Camera Stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal Handheld comes with a rechargeable battery, so you can use it continuously without having to wait for a recharge.
  • This stabilizer has a high capacity and is easy to use because of its simple design and intuitive controls.
  • It has an excellent build quality that makes it durable for long term use in harsh weather conditions or rugged terrains.

Cons:

Ideal for film-makers or vloggers with light weight cameras

This stabilizer is useful for film-makers or vloggers with light weight cameras. It is important for professional videographers, but not so much if you are looking to use the Ronin-S to hold heavy cameras. The unit is also very good for vloggers who want a handheld camera stabilizer and want their videos to look professional.

The DJI Ronin-S is designed for people who are making videos for Youtube, especially those that involve walking around or doing something active like skateboarding or biking. It’s quick and easy to set up, which makes it great for beginners!

drwabacks of DJI Ronin-S – Camera Stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal Handheld

The price tag is not for everyone. The item is quite heavy and the handle is quite short. The battery life isn’t long enough to last a full day of shooting, but you can use an external power source if you need more juice (just make sure you have it charged before using).

The DJI Ronin-S – Camera Stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal Handheld will help you create some really cool shots, but the learning curve can be pretty steep at first if you’re new to gimbals or don’t have much experience operating them. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort, though, this gimbal could make all of your dreams come true!

And while this system is not only good at stabilizing your camera, but it also doesn’t weigh you down or limit your shooting time by requiring frequent recharging. You need to consider several factors when choosing a gimbal stabilizer: budget, weight, battery life and other features like smoothness of the gimbal’s movement and portability. There are many types of stabilizers available on the market today—both handheld and shoulder-mount—each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You should think carefully about what kind of video production you want to do before deciding which one works best for your needs.

It is important to note that the Glide Gear GNS 100 Geranos 3 Axis Gimbal Stabilizer cannot be used with very heavy cameras. This is because it weighs only 2lbs, making it a lightweight gimbal stabilizer. It also won’t work well with super long lenses, such as 200mm or 300mm lenses.

The manual pan and tilt controls may not be ideal for people who want to control their camera while mounted on the gimbal. However, these features are easily adapted by purchasing an external remote control for your camera for about $20-30 (depending on what brand you choose).

4-Axis motorized gimbal stabilizer

The Accsoon A1-S 4-Axis motorized gimbal stabilizer offers three selectable operating modes to control your shooting style:

  • Panning mode: for handheld camera shooting, this mode lets you move the camera in any direction at any speed. The gimbal keeps the horizon level and stabilizes it to keep your shot steady.
  • Lock mode: this mode locks the camera movement along one axis while you move it along another. It keeps the horizon level while making sure that your subject is not shaky when you zoom or pan around them.
  • Panning/tilt mode: in this mode, both axes (horizontal and vertical) are locked while you pan or tilt your camera to achieve smooth tracking shots that are very hard to achieve without a good gimbal like the Accsoon A1-S 4-Axis motorized gimbal stabilizer.

2-Axis gimbal stabilizer

The Accsoon A1-S 3-Axis Handheld Multifunctional Gimbal Stabilizer comes with a 2-axis gimbal stabilizer that can support the weight of your camera. The 3rd axis can be added later on, so if you think you will need it in the future, it won’t cost you anything extra to get it now.

The Accsoon A1-S 3-Axis Handheld Multifunctional Gimbal Stabilizer is operable in three selectable operating modes: Follow Mode, Lock Mode, and Pan/Tilt Follow Mode. In Follow mode the gimbal will follow you and your camera’s movement as you move through space. In Lock Mode the gimbal locks in place so that you can pan or tilt your camera without having to worry about keeping it level with your subject. Pan/Tilt Follow Mode allows for both rotational panning and tilting with one hand while still shooting video with another hand.

Cinestore app – work with Cineeye wireless follow focus

The Cinestore app is an amazing tool that takes advantage of the A1-S’s built-in Bluetooth, allowing users to control the gimbal via a mobile device. The Cinestore app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and is compatible with iOS 9.0 and above or Android 4.4 and above.

Once you download the application on your smartphone, connect your phone to the A1-S via Bluetooth for wireless control of panning, tilting and rotation speeds.

pro and cons of Accsoon A1-S 3-Axis Handheld Multifunctional Gimbal Stabilizer

One of the biggest advantages of this product is that it’s very portable. It can do a lot of things for you, which is a big plus. However, some people find it hard to operate because sometimes it vibrates when you’re filming. The only other problem with this product is that sometimes in low light conditions, your footage will be slightly blurred out of focus. However, these drawbacks are not major problems at all and won’t stop someone from buying this item!

With this product, you can stabilize shots with precision.

With this product, you can stabilize shots with precision. The 4-axis motorized gimbal stabilizer is designed to operate smoothly and will work perfectly for both beginner and professional photographers.

You’ll also be able to capture more steady videos when you add a compatible action camera like the Sony FDR-X3000R or GoPro Hero 7 Black into the mix. There are two ways of attaching your camera: either by using a 1/4″-20 mount or by using an adapter that’s included with each purchase (you’ll need to buy separately if you want this device).

drwabacks of Accsoon A1-S 3-Axis Handheld Multifunctional Gimbal Stabilizer

If you’re the kind of person who wants to get straight to the point, here it is: this gimbal has no battery, no charger, no monitor, and no camera. In other words: you won’t be able to use it until you have all of those things. And even then—good luck!

You can also forget about cables and lens options; there aren’t any either. The only thing included in the box is a manual that tells you how to put your new Accsoon A1-S 3-Axis Handheld Multifunctional Gimbal Stabilizer together (or at least how not to break it when doing so).

This may sound like a lot of work to go through just for something that’s supposed to make shooting easier—but if we’re being completely honest with ourselves here (and we always are), we’d have to say that having an extra set of hands really does make things easier sometimes.

Zhiyun Crane 2S, 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer

The Zhiyun Crane 2S is a 3-axis handheld stabilizer that allows you to capture smooth video and photos with your smartphone or DSLR. It features an electronic 5-way joystick for easy control over panning, tilting, and rolling. The crane has two different modes: one for beginners and one for advanced users. The crane also comes with a detachable handle that doubles as a stand to hold your phone when you’re not shooting footage. All of these features come together in this single device so you can record professional looking videos without having to worry about multiple pieces of equipment or craning your body into weird positions just to get the shot right!

Compatible with Cameras up to 4.4 Pounds:

The Zhiyun Crane 2S gimbal stabilizer supports cameras up to 4.4 pounds (2kg), or about the weight of a DSLR camera with a lens attached. It’s also compatible with 5.3 and 6-inch smartphones, which will come in handy if you want to get some sweet aerial shots using your smartphone’s camera!

As for how much weight it can support at once, that depends on what kind of lens and accessories you have mounted on your camera. The crane has a payload capacity of 800g (1 pound) when no accessories are used, but if you add things like microphones or GoPro mounts, it will drop down to 600g (1/5th pound).

If you’re planning on using the crane only with handheld devices like smartphones or tablets (which weigh less than 1 pound), then this shouldn’t be an issue at all! In fact, I had fun running around my house with both my iPhone Xr and iPad Pro tucked inside their cases while shooting some footage for one of my projects last week—the whole thing felt very light compared against other gimbals I’ve used before—and there was barely any noticeable difference between how these devices handled as compared against something like an 8-pound DSLR setup!

8-Pound Maximum Payload

This is the single most important feature of the Crane 2S. It’s not quite as high as some other gimbals on the market, but this is still very impressive. The Crane 2S can support cameras up to 4.4 pounds in weight and allows for you to use it with a wide range of different camera models.

The Crane 2S will work with most DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras (Sony A7 series), or even a GoPro Hero 5 Session!

All-New TransMount Image Transmission System

Zhiyun Crane 2S, 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is the successor to Zhiyun Crane v1.0. With an all-new TransMount Image Transmission System and built-in Bluetooth, the new version of Crane makes shooting with your camera easier than ever before. It’s compatible with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras up to 4.4 pounds in weight, and it can support payloads up to 8 pounds heavy.

18-Hour Runtime with 22,400mAh Battery

The Zhiyun Crane 2S has a built-in battery capacity of 22,400mAh and provides up to 18 hours of runtime. It can be recharged via the included power adapter, which is also compatible with most standard outlets. The Zhiyun Crane 2S can also be recharged via its USB Type-C port at 5V/2A (10W).

OLED Display and Eight Custom Buttons

You can set up to eight functions (including follow mode, still capture, and video record) with the custom buttons. The OLED display gives you easy access to the settings and allows you to check the status of your gimbal at a glance. Since I’ve been using this for about a month now, I’ve gotten used to it pretty well and am comfortable with how things work. It’s nice not having to go into a menu system just so that I can change modes or adjust other settings on my device quickly—I’ve grown fond of being able to do everything from an external screen like this one!

Intuitive 4-Way Steering Wheel Control

The Zhiyun Crane 2S is the best gimbal for professionals, and it has everything you need to capture high-quality footage on a budget. It offers three different stabilization modes:

Fixed Mode (for DSLR cameras)

Smooth Mode (for mirrorless cameras)

Free Mode (if you want to be creative with your shots)

The fixed mode has a joystick that adjusts the camera pitch and roll, while panning and tilting can be controlled by hand using the four-way control wheel. The smooth mode allows you to adjust panning, tilting, rolling and zooming individually in separate settings so they don’t interfere with each other as much. If you’re looking for more freedom of motion without sacrificing quality then free mode might be just what you need; this setting includes all of the features from smooth mode with none of its adjustments locked into place.

Two 3/8″-16 Mounting Threads and 1/4″-20 Quick Release Plate

The Crane 2S has two 3/8″-16 mounting threads and a 1/4″-20 quick release plate that are all located on the bottom of the gimbal. The front and rear of this device have a 3/8″-16 thread and there is an additional 1/4″-20 quick release plate mounted on the left side of this gimbal stabilizer.

pro and cons of Zhiyun Crane 2S, 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer

The Zhiyun Crane 2S is an excellent handheld gimbal that has an impressive build quality and ease of use. It’s easy to balance, so you won’t have much trouble getting your camera balanced. The battery life is also good (about six hours), and its OLED screen allows you to easily see what modes your gimbal is on as well as how much battery power it has left.

It’s also lightweight and can be carried in a backpack or purse with ease. The only problem with this gimbal is that it cannot be used with large lenses, which isn’t a big deal if you’re using a DSLR or mirrorless camera; however, if you’re using a smartphone camera such as the iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, then this may be an issue for some people because even though these smartphones have large sensors inside them (which means they capture great images), most users will still want some type of stabilization when shooting video footage because there will still be motion blur even though these smartphones do offer some built-in stabilization features like optical image stabilization (OIS).

Another con would be the price point; although this product does come from one of my favorite brands within their industry and offers excellent performance compared to other brands out there who sell similar products at prices ranging from $200-$500 USD more than what Zhiyun charges for theirs… but if money isn’t really an issue then go ahead get yours now!

The Zhiyun-Tech Crane 2S offers innovative upgrades and improvements over the original Crane 2.

The Crane 2S offers innovative upgrades and improvements over the original Crane 2. The 2S is designed to deliver improved payload capacity, image transmission, and battery life.

Additionally, the Zhiyun App can now be used as a wireless remote control for an iPhone/iPad or Android device so you can use your phone to control your camera (and shoot photos) from afar.

drwabacks of Zhiyun Crane 2S, 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer

The Zhiyun Crane 2S doesn’t come with a steering wheel that controls focus and zoom. This means that you’ll be pulling out your phone or GoPro to change the settings when you’re in the field. The good news is that both devices should be compatible with the gimbal’s wireless connection, but this is still an inconvenience for people who like to keep things simple.

The power pass through port is another feature missing from this gimbal stabilizer. There’s no way to charge up a battery while using it or even plug in some headphones so you don’t have to take off your headphones when filming if they run out of juice at any point during a shoot!

Finally, there are no indicators on either device as far as battery life goes, which could result in some unplanned downtime if something goes wrong during filming session due lack of proper warning beforehand (i’m looking at YOU Sony A7 III).

  • What is the Zhiyun Crane 2S, 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR and Mirrorless Camera?

The Crane 2S is a handheld brushless gimbal designed for all types of cameras, from mirrorless to a heavy DSLR. It’s capable of supporting up to 7.94 pounds and has advanced stabilization algorithms that make it easy for you to capture smooth video footage with minimal effort. The software interface allows you to program each axis separately in order to fine-tune your shots precisely as needed. In addition, there are three different modes available: Free Mode (manual control), Pan Follow Mode (follows movement while panning), Pan Lock Mode (locks camera angle while panning). The original Crane was incredibly popular when it debuted at CES 2017; now Zhiyun has returned with an upgraded version that offers even better performance than before!

A New Era for Handheld Filmmaking

The Crane 2S is a strong contender for the title of best handheld gimbal for filmmakers. It boasts a payload capacity of 3.2kg and an impressive 15-hour runtime, with a new quick release system that makes it easy to switch between different cameras.

It’s also slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, making it easier to carry around while filming long takes in the field or on set.

Uninhibited 360° Rotation and Super-fast Shooting Response

Zhiyun Crane 2S is designed to be more effective than other gimbals in its price range. It gives you the ability to perform free 360 degree rotation and super-fast shooting response. With these features, you can get smoother and more accurate video footage while shooting at any angle with just one hand.

Because of the 3-axis stabilization technology, Zhiyun Crane 2S can shoot very smooth video footage even when travelling at high speed or when pointing your camera towards a moving subject. This function works great for time lapse photography as well because it helps stabilize every frame in your sequence so there will be no jerky motion artifacts in your clip!

Professional Articulating Color LCD Touchscreen

The Crane 2S has a 3.2-inch color touch screen that displays the current parameters and settings of the gimbal, providing a more intuitive and efficient way to control it. It’s accessible to users of all levels, so you don’t need to be an expert in order to use it.

Save Time & Effort with Intelligent Shot Composition

Intelligent Shot Composition is a feature that uses computer vision to detect the horizon line, and then automatically adjust the tilt angle of the gimbal so that your shots are perfectly level.

This feature works beautifully, but it does have some limitations: when you use this function, Intelligent Shot Composition will only level your footage if your camera is sitting on top of your gimbal (or mounted on a tripod). If you attach it to something else like an extension pole or selfie stick, Intelligent Mode won’t work.

To make sure you get the most out of this feature, here’s how it works:

  • When shooting with Intelligent Mode enabled, just hold down on one of the buttons until a white circle appears in front of each axis indicator at the bottom-left corner of your screen (see screenshot below). This indicates that Intelligent Mode is active and ready for use! You can also see which axis has been selected by looking at its corresponding icon on screen (i.e., if left is selected then “L” will appear next to its name).

Focus Pull & Zoom Control and More Amazing Features

  • Focusing on a subject is incredibly easy, thanks to the dedicated focus-pull control. The Crane 2S features a 2-axis joystick that allows you to move your camera forward and backward as well as side to side.

You can also trigger smooth zoom shots by using the same joystick for manual camera control. This feature is particularly useful for getting close up shots without physically moving in on your subject, and it makes adding motion blur easy since you can slow down the speed of your shot while keeping the focal length constant throughout. In addition, there’s a two-way toggle button that lets you switch between preset speeds between 1x (no zoom), 2x (full zoom), and 4x (half zoom).

  • Time Lapse Mode: Record an extended period of time and condense it into something shorter than real life! With this mode enabled, video clips are automatically recorded at predetermined intervals ranging from 1 second all the way up to 24 hours long – depending on how much memory space has been allocated when setting up your camera configuration beforehand.* Motion Lapse Mode: If there’s one thing we know about time lapse photography… It’s that sometimes things move! That’s why we’ve included this awesome feature so users can capture movement within their frames without worrying about whether or not their footage will come out blurry or pixelated because they didn’t have enough light behind them when taking pictures;

It’s hard to believe that this little gimbal is just as powerful as its bigger brother, the Crane 2. In fact, it can hold a camera up to 7 pounds! Unlike the original Crane, it features an improved battery life and more precise operation for more controlled shots. With a maximum operating temperature of 60 degrees Celsius (140 F), you can take your Zhiyun crane 2S 3-axis handheld gimbal stabilizer with you anywhere you go without worrying about overheating.

The Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR Cameras is designed to be used by any professional or amateur filmmaker who wants their videos to look great without having to spend thousands on expensive equipment. It comes with both standard 1/4 inch screw mounts and adapters so that it can fit most cameras and handles comfortably while providing smooth footage even when moving quickly through harsh terrain or busy streets.

3-Axis motorized gimbal stabilizer

The Zhiyun Crane 2S is a compact and lightweight gimbal stabilizer designed for handheld use. It creates smooth, stable footage by providing 3-axis stabilization along pan, tilt, and roll axes. The gimbal works with cameras up to 7 lb (3 kg), making it a versatile option for DSLRs or mirrorless cameras such as the Canon EOS R or Sony Alpha A7 III. Its quick release camera plate ensures swift transitions between different devices—a necessary feature when you want to get moving quickly while filming outdoors.

The Crane 2S has 4-way joystick control that enables users manual adjustment of their shot settings through the handle—it’s helpful if you’re not comfortable using your smartphone app yet as there isn’t always cell reception out in nature (though this may also be an excuse to learn how to use an app).

Multiple shooting modes, including full-range POV Mode, Vortex Mode, Go Mode, and more

With the Crane 2S, you can switch between multiple shooting modes to create your own unique perspective. The first is full-range POV mode, which allows you to capture 180 degrees of synchronous movement on all three axes for limitless panoramas. Another mode is Vortex Mode, where a 360-degree rotation along the roll axis creates an infinite rotation effect. There’s also Go Mode for smooth and stable handheld shots without having to use any additional accessories or rigs.

18-hour run time; supports up to 7 lb (payload)^Compatible with Sony A7 series, Canon 5D series and Nikon D850

This gimbal is a great choice if you’re looking to shoot footage with your DSLR camera and don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on stabilization equipment. It’s also compatible with some of the most popular cameras on the market right now, including Sony A7 series, Canon 5D series and Nikon D850. In addition to being able to hold up to 7 lb (payload), it has a long run time of 18 hours when fully charged while offering three different modes: pan mode, lock mode and zoom mode!

Compatible with most smartphones and action cameras; auto-rotating Time Lapse/Motionlapse feature

This gimbal is compatible with most smartphones, action cameras and drones. It can be used for time-lapse and motion-lapse photography with auto-rotation.

The Crane 2S features a new design that makes it more comfortable to hold than its predecessor, the Crane M which was the first handheld gimbal released by Zhiyun. The new controller has a trigger button on top instead of on the side like before; this makes it easier to operate when you’re holding the camera at eye level or above your head for overhead shots (the controller also has a joystick as well as manual buttons).

pro and cons of Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR Cameras

Pros of Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR Cameras:

  • The Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR Cameras is lightweight and highly portable, weighing just over a pound. It has an extended battery life, with each charge lasting up to 12 hours. Additionally, the handle can be installed on either side of the gimbal — you don’t have to worry about which way is left or right when filming!

Cons of Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for DSLR Cameras:

While there are many benefits to using this stabilizer, there are also some drawbacks that may turn you off from purchasing one. The first drawback is that it doesn’t come with any kind of case to protect it during storage or transportation; however, if you purchase one separately (there are many available), then this shouldn’t be an issue at all. Another disadvantage is that it tends not to work well with certain cameras; specifically small camcorders and point-and-shoot cameras under 7 ounces in weight will likely be incompatible with this product because their motors aren’t strong enough to support them on their own — they need more power than what these devices can provide them (which means they won’t hold up).

The Ikan DS2-A Beholder Angled 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is a well built, versatile gimbal that can accommodate cameras up to 5 pounds in weight. It features a lightweight but sturdy design made from carbon fiber and aluminum alloy, and it’s available at a price point that makes it a viable option for filmmakers who are looking for something simple but effective.

Here are its main features:

  • Supports cameras up to 5 pounds in weight (including GoPro)
  • Made of lightweight but sturdy carbon fiber and aluminum alloy
  • Three different modes for panning/tilting (horizontal, vertical, or both)

Ikan DS2-A Beholder Angled 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer with Encoders for DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras, Black

The Beholder Angled 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is a great choice for gimbal users who want a more hands-free experience. We also like its quick-release mounting system and auto balance modes.

However, you may want to look elsewhere if you’re looking for a stabilizer that’s good for DSLR cameras or mirrorless models, because this model won’t work well with those types of cameras. It’s also not very good at ikan (the company that makes it), though we think it’s above average when compared to similar products from other brands.

The Beholder DS2-A is a 3-axis gyro stabilized gimbal for use with DSLR cameras. The gimbal features encoders on all three axes, giving the operator finer control over movement and more power to customize settings.

The Beholder DS2-A is a 3-axis gyro stabilized gimbal for use with DSLR cameras. The gimbal features encoders on all three axes, giving the operator finer control over movement and more power to customize settings. As opposed to older models that leave you guessing how much your camera has moved since you last calibrated it, the Beholder DS2-A will tell you exactly what position it’s in at any given moment by displaying a live readout of each axis’ current position. This way, if your camera starts drifting out of place while filming, all you have to do is adjust its position manually through the app rather than having to recalibrate everything again from scratch – saving lots of time!

The encoders also allow filmmakers who want more control over their footage more flexibility when shooting because they can choose between several different modes such as panoramic mode (whereby users can move around an object 360 degrees without needing wires), panorama follow mode (which automatically tracks objects or people moving within frame), horizon follow mode (which keeps horizon lines straight), framing preset mode (great for quick setups) and many others! Each one provides different functionality based on what type of shot/subject matter is needed so there should be something here for everyone’s needs!

The DS2-A features internal batteries that can be charged via the included AC wall charger or by connecting it to an external Canon LP-E6 battery.

The DS2-A features internal batteries that can be charged via the included AC wall charger or by connecting it to an external Canon LP-E6 battery. The batteries last long enough for you to use the stabilizer on a number of shoots and are easily replaceable. They’re also lightweight, which means you might not even notice them in your bag after long days of shooting!

If you have an external power source available, such as an AC power outlet or car cigarette lighter, then charging your DS2-A is simple: just connect the included DC cable from one end of your device directly into its port on top (or bottom). When plugged in like this, both devices will charge simultaneously—so no need for two separate chargers!

An aluminum carry case is included that’s designed to hold the gimbal, counterweights, and accessories for convenient transportation.

The Beholder DS2-A is a 3-axis gyro stabilized gimbal for use with DSLR cameras. The gimbal features encoders on all three axes, giving the operator finer control over movement and more power to customize settings.

The quick release plate makes it easy to swap your camera between the gimbal and tripod using only one hand. The left-side handle can be removed as needed, allowing you to mount accessories such as our Remote Focus & Zoom Control (RFK06) or Wireless Follow Focus (WFF02). A second handle is also included for right handed users or those who prefer that configuration.

Each axis has also been redesigned with beefier motors compared to the previous DS1. This results in increased torque and responsiveness as well as improved stability and accuracy.

In our testing, we found that the new design does indeed perform better than its predecessor when it comes to balancing out gimbal movements at low speeds, but we weren’t able to replicate these results during high-speed panning or tilting.

pro and cons of Ikan DS2-A Beholder Angled 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer

Pros:

  • A lot of features for the price.
  • Good quality overall.
  • Lightweight and easy to carry around.

Cons:

  • Not easy to set up and use. It takes a while, and there are not really any instructions or guides on how to get started with this gimbal stabilizer, which is a real shame because it’s actually pretty intuitive (in my opinion). I think this could be an issue for most people who are new at using gimbals in general, but especially those who don’t have much experience with DSLR camera movements and shooting styles since the Beholder 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is designed specifically for still photos rather than video shooting modes like panning shots and smooth dolly moves around objects like cars or tables.

Another improvement over the DS1 is the ability to run a 5V camera accessory without additional power (max output 500mA) via the UBEC input cable. With this feature, you can power an external monitor and/or wireless follow focus system directly from the gimbal. A 5V UBEC cable is included with the DS2-A.

The UBEC (Universal Battery Elimination Circuit) allows you to power an external monitor and/or wireless follow focus system directly from the gimbal. A 5V UBEC cable will be included with your gimbal.

With this gimbal, you’ll have to balance it manually. This can be challenging if you’re new to gimbals.

In order to balance the gimbal, you need to know how much weight your camera is going to produce when it’s mounted on the rig. The DS2-A Beholder doesn’t have an integrated scale so you’ll need an external one such as this one from Amazon or B&H Photo Video (affiliate links). You’ll also want a level that’s accurate enough for balancing purposes like this one from Amazon or B&H Photo Video (affiliates).
